Danny:
"No Georgie! You can't make me! I don't wanna go!" I shouted as she dragged me towards the nail salon.
"Would you stop throwing a tantrum? It's just a manicure, you're not gonna die. This will make the whole homecoming experience more special," she stated and we stopped in front of the salon.
"I don't know about this, Georgie. I just don't get the idea of paying people money to touch my hands and judge me in another language," I grumbled.
"Danny, you have to trust me. This is gonna be so much fun! It's best friend bonding time! Just do it for me? Please?" Georgie pleaded.
"...fine," I replied reluctantly.
"Yayyyyyy!" she squealed.
Georgie recommended I get acrylic nails, to which I immediately refused. I am a drummer after all. Getting our nails done wasn't so bad. We laughed, talked about everything from Adam and Jackson to our favorite TV shows. Overall, I didn't hate it.
After a not so horrible nail salon experience, Georgie and I went back to my house. What she decided to leave out was that the girly torture didn't end at the nail salon.
"Face masks!" Georgie squealed and started rubbing a slimy goop onto my face.
"Ew! What did you just put on my face?" I asked while poking at it.
"Don't touch it! Let it work its magic! This is going to clean your face and make it better to apply makeup later," she explained and I sat there with my arms crossed giving her my best 'I hate you' face. About twenty minutes later, I finally got to wash the mask off my face, and my god. I don't think my face has ever been that smooth before! Unfortunately, Georgie decided to ruin my moment and put something called 'foundation' on my face. Ugh. I feel so uncomfortable right now, but Georgie's just so happy. Just this once, I'll let her have this.
"My face itches," I complained and Georgie held my hands back from scratching.
"It will go away. I can't believe you've never worn makeup before! It's a type of art, but on your face!" she mused and I rolled my eyes.
"You're crazy, you know that," I said and George let out a loud laugh.
"Yeah, but you know you love it," we both giggled, "Alrighty, our dashing prince charmings should be here any second, so let's add the finishing touches!"
"I don't know if I would call them dashing, Georgie," she laughed, "Maybe more like the two musketeers who lost their other friend," I said, which caused us to laugh even harder. Just as our laughter died out, the front door opened, with two very excited boys standing, Adam with car keys in hand. My mom cheerfully called Georgie and me downstairs to greet our goofy dates.
"Georgie, I'm so nervous. And excited. But mostly nervous. This is my first dance. What if I embarrass myself in front of Jackson?"
"You mean you're nerivited! That's totally normal. And honestly, I doubt you can embarrass yourself in front of Jackson. He likes you. A lot. So, you have nothing to worry about! Now, let's go down there and start the best night of our lives!" she said clapping with excitement.
Georgie and I got up from my bedroom floor and put on our shoes. While Georgie wore beautiful, sparkly heels, I just went with some classic converse. I turned off the light and walked down the hall, with a little more confidence in my step with this outfit. Georgie practically jumped down the stairs into Adam's arms, and then there was me. Being the clumsiest person in the world, I carefully walked down the stairs, head down, and still managed to trip on the last step, bumping me right into Jackson's chest. I looked up to see him smiling.
