"OPEN YOUR BOOK AT PAGE 70," McGonagall says while ignoring all the whispers going through the class. I can feel their eyes burn on my back, it has been like this ever since breakfast. I heard some girls talking about this article in the Daily Prophet about Sirius Black's lost daughter and because of something that was written down, people think it is me, which is impossible because I am a twin. Blaise's twin.
A boy from Gryffindor walks past, trips causing his ink to splash on my table, on my clothes and on me. Some Gryffindors laugh, but not Hermione and her friends.
"Wow, you are so funny, man. Really, that was creative." I say coldly while wiping away the ink off my face. "Mister Thomas, you can leave this classroom, I do not tolerate-" McGonagall starts angrily.
"I don't need you to protect me or something. I can do that perfectly on my own, thank you." I say as I aggressively stand and grab my things. "I am going to clean myself up-," I tell McGonagall who just stares at me in disbelief.
"And you- mess with me again and I make sure you will be destroyed-" "As if," he laughs, but that stops when my hand finds his chin.
"Such a pretty boy, what a shame would that be if we had to end that," I state while running my thumb over his bottom lip. "We wouldn't want that, would we Thomas?" His breathing fastened up and he quickly shakes his head. "That's what I thought-" I whisper before leaving the classroom.
Every student I pass whispers when seeing the state I am in, covered in ink. I roll my eyes and keep walking till I bump into someone. My eyes go up and I see the headmaster.
"I am so sorry, professor. I wasn't paying attention, I-"
"It is okay, I was looking for you miss Zabini. Although I didn't expect to find you here, aren't you supposed to be in your Transfiguration class?" He asks as his eyes wander over my not so white blouse.
"There was a small accident, I was about to clean up."
The old man waves with his wand cleaning up the mess for me.
"Oh! Thank you sir,"
I state with a smile while glancing at the man in front of me.
"Follow me, miss Zabini."

I step out of the fireplace into my living room only to find my mom waiting for me. "What's going on? Mom, what the hell is this?" "I made a mistake in my past, you need to understand that-" "A mistake? You made a mistake?! You're telling me that everything I thought I knew is a lie! That's not a mistake, that's fucking up your daughter's life." I state calmer than I feel. "Lacey please-" She starts broken, but I already turn around and run upstairs.
"Lacey!"
"Walk to hell, mother!"
As I arrive in my room I quickly grab the trunk that was waiting on my bed and close it again. Emotions take over my senses and I know I have to get out of here.
"What are you doing?"
Her voice stops me as I put my jacket on. "I need to get out of here-"
"No, it is dangerous!" She says angrily trying to make me stay.
"Touch me again and I won't have enough control-"
She steps back with a small sob, watching how I get ready to leave. "I know you have questions, but-" "You think?"
"Blaise is still your twin brother. You- Your- Blaise's dad, Black and I- we-" "I know what you did and you don't have to repeat it. The Daily Prophet made it more than clear when they exposed the secrets they could find on the so-called mass murderer. Thanks for being there first."
She lets me pass, not trying to stop me as she knows what the consequences can be. I can feel how the tears run over my cheek but I ignore it as I walk to the front door. "Reconsider this, Lacey. It is almost Christmas. What will the rest of the family think?"
"Did you know?" I cry out turning to the man I called my dad for so long. "Did you know I wasn't yours? Did you lie to me too?" When he doesn't say anything, I roughly wipe away my tears. "Of course you did," I state before walking out of the house.
"Lacey! Come back!"
"Lace, darling!"
They both shout at me but I try my best to ignore it and picture the location I want to travel to. I apparate and the moment I arrive I hit the ground hard.
The pain comes as fast as the realisation. I crumbled myself. A whimper leaves my mouth as I get myself inside the Leaky Cauldron. Tom, the bartender, comes into action the moment he sees my bleeding shoulder. He puts a towel in water in front of me with a smile. "Would you like to have something to drink?" "A butterbeer, please. And thank you, Tom, for- you know-" I point at the stuff he just put down. "Don't worry about it, take care of yourself and I will get you your butterbeer."
He disappears and I am left with silence as I start to clean the wound. It stings and I try not to groan. My thoughts are all over the place and I can't help but cry again.
"Is it true what they say?" I stare at the tanned brown-haired boy in front of me. "I don't know, Blaise. It can't be right?" When he doesn't answer I look up to the boy I call my brother. "Right?" "I don't know, Lace- I need to go to class. See you later-" He states before leaving me alone in the corridor.
"You are Lacey Zabini, right? You are the girl my son can not shut up about." My eyes find the face that pairs with the voice and I spot the similarities with a certain redhead. "Oh darling, are you okay? Can I do-" She stops talking when seeing my shoulder. "Give that to me-" She states taking over the towel.
"I am not Lacey Zabini-" The words break me, but I can't hear those lies anymore. Not today. "It's...- It's Black...- Lacey Black-" I murmur trying not to look at the woman. "Do you want to tell me what happened?"
I don't know what it is, but something about this woman makes me believe I am safe, safer than I usually feel.
