Chapter 9

Josh follows the doctor through the hallways into Jennifer's room. She's laying there on her bed speechless tears rolling down her eyes.
Josh knows somethings wrong he see's her trying not to have an emotional breakdown he knows that whatever it is its nothing exciting.
"Baby whats wrong?" he says trying to sound strong.
"I'll leave you two alone" says the doctor behind him.
"Josh." she says breaking into tears he goes to her and embraces her trying not to hurt her.
"The baby" she says not being able to bare the loss of the baby.
"I wanted it so bad they didn't find a heartbeat" she cried louder. Seeing her face red filled with tears and sadness made Josh hurt. Jennifer wanted this baby more than anything else. It was Josh's christmas surprise and now Jen felt as if she had killed it. "I killed it" she cried "Its all my fault"
"No baby its no ones fault we can always try again" he said trying to console her.
"Mr.Hutcherson we're going to start getting her prepared for the procedure." said the doctor
"Ofcourse" said Josh wiping his tears
"I love you Jennifer" he said giving her a peck on the lips
"I love you too Josh" she said
Jennifer was laying there tears rolling down her eyes slowly until she fell asleep. Josh tried to think of what they'd tell Lauren she was expecting a little brother or sister and now she wasn't going to. The doctor didn't come out for almost three hours. Hopefully she's okay he thought. He wondered if Jen would be the same obviously she wouldn't be she'd be different but he could live with that because he loved her. He blamed himself for leaving Jen alone in the house he should've stayed with her and maybe none of this would've happened.
"Mr.Hutcherson we have completed the procedure." said the doctor
"When can I see her?" he asked
"In a few minutes she's a bit drowsy from the medication we'll tell you when you can" he replied
"Okay thanks doc" replied Josh
A few minutes later Jennifer was awake she was a bit drowsy but she knew what had happened after she fell asleep. She instantly broke into tears.
"Jen?" said Josh coming into the room
"How are you feeling?" said Josh not knowing what to say or do.
She was speechless her face was pale her eyes burned from all the crying.
Josh went to comfort her she embraced his arm.
"Babe we can try again" said Josh
"I know but I was really excited for this we had already bought the stuff for it and Lauren was excited as well. I'm so sorry" she said crying
"Its alright babe you know its not your fault"
"Yes it is i'm the one that fell"
"No its not I shouldn't have left you alone"
"Wheres Lauren"
"She's staying with Lucy for the night"
"I want to see her" she said
"I'll pick her up bright and early tomorrow"
The rest of the night went by slow Jennifer slept and Josh laid on the couch beside the hospital bed not getting much sleep because he dedicated all of his attention to her.
Josh was woken up early the next morning by the machines he decided to pick up Lauren and stop at home to take a quick shower.
"Can you let my wife know that I went to go pick up my daughter when she awakes?" he asked nicely to the nurse.
"Ofcourse"
"Thank you"
He got home, showered and changed quickly in less than thirty minutes he was at Lucy's house.
"Hey" said Josh greeting Lucy with a hug
"Hey how's Jen?" she asked worried
"Well she was sleeping when I left but she was worked up yesterday" he said trying to hold back tears from thinking of the baby.
"Josh you know Liam and I are here for you and Jen anything you need just ask" she smiled hugging him one more time
"Thanks" he smiled weakly
"Daddy!" said Lauren running to the door.
"Hey baby did you have fun?" he asked
"Yeah where's mommy?"
"We're going to go see her right now hun get your bookbag"
"Thanks for sitting Luce I appreciate it"
"No problem by sweetheart" she said giving Lauren a kiss
"Bye" said Lauren hugging Lucy tightly.
15 minutes later Josh and Lauren were on their way to the hospital.
"Why are we here?" asked Lauren
"Mommy's a bit sick"
"Is she okay?"
"Yeah she'll be just fine honey" he smiled giving her a reassuring look.
Jennifer heard Lauren's voice in the hallway she wiped the tears from her face and smiled.
"Hey baby" said Jen sitting up on her bed
"Mommy" smiled Lauren hugging her
Jennifer saw Lauren's long wavy hair her eyes filled with joy to see her mom in that moment she knew everything was going to be okay because she still had her daughter and a man who loved her and that had stuck by her side for years.
