Chapter 6

Jen-
I woke up to the smell of pancakes and bacon.
"Good morning" said Josh opening his eyes
"Good morning" I smiled
"For a moment I thought we were still back at home" he said
"Me too but the breakfast sure does smell better than when I make it" I giggled
"It just smells a bit less burnt" he laughed
We got up and went to the kitchen
"Mornin sleepyheads" said my mom handing us coffee
"Morning something sure does smell good" said Josh
"Well that's because I woke up a bit earlier thinking maybe the baby living in my baby's stomach might have a big appetite"
"Is Lauren still sleeping?" I asked
"Nope she went for a walk with your dad and Pablo just trying to kill some time to wait for you two to have breakfast"
"Thanks Karen" said Josh
"That's what i'm here for Josh"
"Goodmorning mommy" said Lauren coming in the door
"Mornin' sweetheart did you like the walk?"
"Yeah I like it around here it's so quiet Pablo liked it too" she smiled
"I'm glad you had fun" said Josh sipping from his coffee
"Well let's eat" said my dad
We ate until we couldn't have another bite.
"That breakfast was delicious grandma" said Lauren
"I'm glad you liked it sweetheart" said my mom with a smile
"Thanks for the breakfast mom" I said
"Yeah thanks Karen" said Josh
"I love to cook for my loves" she said giggling
"So what do you guys want to do today?" asked my dad
"Well I was thinking maybe we could have a family day all of us I just don't know what"
"Well let's see we could leave you and Josh alone Jen" said my mom grinning
"Mom" I said blushing
"What Jen we know that's how the baby got there"
"Alone for what?" asked Lauren
"Nothing sweetheart just to talk" said many dad making a face at us that read "not in front of the kid"
"Alright well let's see we could go to the park but it's cold outside" said Josh
"Yeah that's not going to work because the slides and swings are wet"
"Why don't we ask Lauren what she wants to do?" Asked my dad
"Whatcha wanna do baby girl?" I asked her
"Watch movies" she smiled
"Why don't we make our own little theater in the living room" said Josh
"Yeah that's a good idea Gary and I can bake some cookies and treats then come join you guys" said my mom
"Yeah that sounds good" I said
"Why not" said my dad
We put the all three four-people couches together and made some popcorn and got m&m's.
"Alright Lauren what movies do you want to watch?" asked my mom
"Which ones are there?"
"We can buy some on demand or we can watch some on netflix" said Josh
"I want the one that daddy likes with the dinosaur and cowboy"
"Toy Story?"
"Yeah those" she said
"Alright then lets look for them"
We found the movies and started watching them and by the middle of the first one the cookies and cupcakes were already in the oven and my parents had joined us.
Even though no one was talking, and there was total silence except the television. I could feel the positive vibe that we all had Lauren had her eyes glued to the movie as well as her father and my parents were quiet paying close attention to the tv as was I. I always loved these moments when I was with the love of my life and my parents as well as a child. Ever since I was a teenager I wanted this life. A life where I was actually in love with a man who made me happy and loved me as much as I loved him We hardly ever argued and when we did we would always calm down and talk it out We had a child that we both wanted and we were doing good when it came to money thank god so we were able to care for her. It was these things I was always grateful for.
The second movie had already started
"The cookies and muffins are probably ready" said my mom getting up.
"I'll help you" I said
"Alright"
We went into the kitchen and got some plates to set them in.
"Wow mom you sure can cook some cookies and muffins" I said giggling
"Oh Jen who can't"
"Me"
"What"
"Yeah. I was making some a couple weeks ago Josh and Lauren were with Liam and I was at home wanting to make some cookies to surprise them and when I took them out, they were hard and black."
"Well then guess we'll have to work on that because Lauren sure does love cookies" she laughed
"Sure does"

A couple hours later Josh and I were already in bed.
"Jennifer can I tell you something" he asked
"Yeah sure what is it?"
"Well I don't think I tell you this very often but I just thought that you should know that I love you a lot. Not only that but I wanted to tell you how thankful I am to have you. I never really thought this before but today when we were watching movies, I was thinking what would have happened if we wouldn't have gotten married if we wouldn't have had Lauren. I wouldn't be this happy and I never realized how amazing I feel when I'm by your side and when I'm holding your hand and how this little baby makes me thankful."
"You sure don't tell me this very often Josh I love you so much and my life would've been unimaginable without you and Lauren." I said
We laid there just talking my head resting on his chest and his arm wrapped around my shoulders.
