Adrien blinked in shock as he sat in the Ferris wheel. He had just been in his classroom a second ago. How did he get here?
"Dude, what just happened?" he heard Nino ask. He turned and saw his friend sitting next to him on the Ferris wheel. Adrien shrugged.
"Beats me," he said. He looked around and saw his other classmates on the Ferris wheel. When he turned around, he saw Alya and Marinette in the cabin behind them. Marinette turned red as he looked up at them.
"Alya! Is Marinette okay?" Adrien shouted at her. Alya looked down at him, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. She looked at Marinette. Then, her face filled with understanding. She shook her head yes. Alya shouted something back, but all Adrien heard was, "Fine!" Adrien frowned. He needed to get out of this cabin so he could find somewhere to transform. Bur for some reason, his cabin wasn't moving. In fact, the Ferris wheel was just stopped. What on Earth was going on?
Then, Adrien heard someone yelling. He scooted closer to the glass and looked down to see his teacher, Ms. Mendelev, arguing with...a magician? Or maybe it wasn't a magician. His outfit was a variety of different colors, unlike most magicians. His top hat was cobalt blue, while his mask was light purple. His cape was bright green on the inside and dark green on the outside. His suit jacket was bright orange, while the shirt underneath was bright aqua. His pants were bright yellow while his shoes were dark brown. He wore a pair of ketchup red gloves, and held a tan wand with aqua-colored tips.
Adrien looked away. The guy's outfit was so bad it kind of hurt to look at him.
"Check out the strange magician," he said to Nino. Nino stood up and looked out the window at him.
"Ugh, that dude looks like the rainbow threw up on him," Nino commented.
"Yeah," Adrien agreed. He looked back down to see the strange-dressed magician arguing with Ms. Mendelev. After a moment, he threatened her with his wand, and she stopped arguing with him. She stomped angrily over to the controls for the Ferris wheel and began pushing some buttons. After a minute, the Ferris wheel began to slowly move, and the strange magician walked away.
"Say," Adrien said as the magician left, "do you think he could be an akuma?"
"I don't know what else he would be, dude. Ferris wheels don't come out of nowhere," Nino said.
"I wonder what his powers are then," Adrien mused aloud.
"I have no idea," Nino said.
"Me either," Adrien said. He glanced back up at the girls to see that Marinette's face was back to its normal color. After several minutes, Adrien and Nino's cabin came in line with the ride platform, the door opening so that they could get out.
"I hope you had a good time," Ms. Mendelev said, her voice sounding strained. She looked completely out of character running the Ferris wheel. Adrien stepped out of the cabin, followed by Nino. He stood off to the side and watched as two other people got in, then watched as the girls' cabin reached the area to get off the ride. The door to their cabin opened.
"Come on, Marinette," Alya said. Marinette sighed and stood up at the same time as Alya. The cabin became a little unbalanced at their sudden movement and wobbled a little.
Adrien acted quickly, stepping inside of the cabin. He picked Marinette up in a princess carry. Marinette's face turned as red as a tomato.
"Sorry," Adrien said. "I just didn't want something to happen. Marinette turned even redder.
"A-Adrien, you d-don't have to c-carry me," she squeaked. Alya climbed out of the cabin with Nino's assistance and the pair made their way towards Adrien and Marinette. Alya was grinning, and so was Nino. Finally realizing what he was doing, Adrien grew flustered and set Marinette down.
