Raven of My Heart
Somewhere in the dark
My muse
Like a scarlet smile
Is a noose
A dying kiss
And a final forgotten blissThere is a raven in my heart
Born to spread its wings
And destined to tear me apartSwirling colors in chalky puddles
Running in the rain
Remembering a pain I never knewStripes within and unseen
Crawl just under the skin
With claws to rip and a needle to mendI fall
And yet this belief is transcendent
If pain remains transfixed
I can find I am strong enough
To open up again
And let you fly back in- Michael J. Tyger
