Yahaba POV
"Don't even know why you dragged me here in the first place..." I grumbled as I threw my blanket on one of the beds, Oikawa pouting next to me.
His body was straight, arms crossed, "C'mon! It'll be good for us! We always spend our summer in the city, it's time we start exploring nature!" he says again (about the 5th time by now), "says the person who's scared of the tiniest fly..".
I felt his hand hit me in the back of the hand, "OH FUCK Y-," before I could continue, I realized the other CITs in the cabin and stopped myself.
"Don't lie to yourself Oikawa, you only came here because of a boy you met at some café..."
"NO THATS NOT-," he stopped for a second, "Y'know what, fuck you..." he left it at that and stomped away.
It was fine though, I knew it wasn't too serious. Oikawa always has his little pouty moments like this, especially when he realizes I'm right. Soon, Semi, one of the other CITs, walked into our room, "The campers are here, we should be heading down to the entrance," he informs us and we nodded.
Both of us left the cabin and jogged towards the entrance, I could see two big busses in the parking lot, kids jumping out.
We all headed to "our counselors" like we were ordered to, Kyōtani already there helping all the kids unload their stuff with Iwaizumi.
All of the kids lined their things along the long wooden fence that surrounded the entrance, most of them running around being idiots. One of the counselors- Shirabu (?), was scolding them.
Once all the teachers got them in order, we all headed down towards the plaza. This is where the main office, the cafeteria, and the activity center was.
"Alright everybody! Welcome to Camp-," the manager began explaining the rules and other things, while the CITs and Counselors stood behind her and listened. More counselors were there than when I first came, like 6 others.
We also had to introduce ourselves- our names and what we liked.
"Uhm- my names Shigeru Yahaba.... I play the violin" (I head canon it sorry) was my introduction, it was plain and simple. There were other violinists among the kids which was cool, and one of them complimented my shade of hair? Now realizing how weird kids can be.
After that, was when we assigned cabins! Me and Kyōtani will be doing one of the boy cabins, the "Dragon" cabin. It was a group of boys who weren't that bad, in fact they were pretty funny and made me laugh.
"Okay everyone, line up here. We'll be taking your things to the cabin, then we'll eat lunch and after we'll do introductions and our first activity!" Kyōtani informed them all and got nods and a few "Okay"s.
////
After a we came back from bringing the boys stuff to their cabin, a bell rang, and apparently that meant we were allowed to go into the cafeteria for lunch. Everyone crowded in, it smelled decent. Apparently it was Onigiri brought by a company named "Onigiri Miya", which sounded sorta familiar, but it was good. They played music while the kids ate, everyone seemed like they were having a good time.
Oikawa sat with Iwaizumi and the other counselors, but I sat alone, eating the Onigiri. But, Kyōtani surprisingly sat down next to me, "Hm, what are you doing alone?" he asks me, tilting his head.
I pointed at Oikawa, "My friends going boy crazy," I sighed in disappointment, making him chuckle slightly, "Understandable.".
We both sat there eating in silence, he seemed to be in his own world as he ate.
His hair color was blonde, and I assumed it was shaved before but it seems to be growing out. His ears has black piercings on them, which was cool, even a nose ring- he seems pretty cool.
////
Now, we were off to our first activity! Kyōtani began leading us down a trail in the woods, like a mini tour. He showed us the different lakes, plants, and small buildings in the woods. There was even a patch of mint leaves, he made us pick a leaf and crack it open, sniffing the inside, and it smelled like- toothpaste? For some reason, I never saw a mint leaf in person, it was interesting. There was also a horse stable, and buildings that we were told "are for other days".
We soon arrived in a small field and sat down in a circle, "Okay everyone! Let's introduce ourselves. We'll say our names, age, and something we like, okay?" Kyōtani says, and all the boys nodded.
"I'll start. My names Kentaro Kyōtani, I'm 22, and I like volleyball," everyone nodded, one kid gasping and saying, "I like volleyball too!", which made Kyōtani smile.
Guess It's my turn, "I'm Shigeru Yahaba. I'm 22 as well and im currently a violinist," everyone clapped for me, one of the kids also played violin, but ALSO the piano.
"Will we play volleyball as an activity?!" volleyball kid asked, bouncing up and down, "I think we will be," answered the counselor, which basically made the little guy jump out of his boots.
All the kids introduced themselves, and they all seemed like they got along so that's good.
////
We already ate dinner when we came back, it was small Cheeseburgers which were nice. When we dropped the boys at the cabin, we met up with their chaperone who will be watching them for the night. It was one of the kid's mom, and she was a nice lady.
Me and Kyōtani walked away from the cabin, he looked tired but at the same time happy.
"How did your first day go?" He asked me as we walked down the trail towards our cabins, "It went great. I'm kinda having fun and kinda excited."
We both stop at the part where we split, he looks at me with a smile, "I'm glad, see you tomorrow morning?" he asks and I nodded, "see you.."
The two of us walked away, going in different directions towards our cabins. From afar, I could see Oikawa standing waiting for me, waving his long arm around obnoxiously.
"Hurry up if you wanna take a shower first, Yahaba!" He shouted at me and ran into the cabin, "Oh no you don't-!" I say and ran after him.
