ironically i am crying right now

It's almost two weeks later when George and Dream go to a coffee shop to study. They walk to the place since it's close to campus, talking about their classes and how they did on an essay or an assignment. When they get there, they walk into the small café with soft smiles on their faces.

They order a caffè latte for Dream and a cappuccino for George. Then, they decide to sit in a quaint corner since the place isn't crowded or loud. The corner they sit in has red brick as the walls decorated with foliage that frames a gorgeous painting.
"Hey, do you know that painting?" Dream beams. George glances at the painting and smiles, it's one of his favorites.
"The Bathing Pool by Hubert Robert" he answers immediately. Dream sips his coffee and smiles softly, "Tell me about it." George glances back at the painting, then back to Dream.

"It's one of six paintings from a room in the Château de Bagatelle. The Château is on the outskirts of Paris, and it also belonged to Comtes d'Artois, or Charles X. Robert often incorporated the antique ruins and monuments he had studied in Italy. In this painting, it's the temple of Jupiter Serapis at Pozzuoli, which is near Naples. The statues of Mercury and Venus are based on works by the French sculptor Pigalle, all while the landscape is imaginary" George informs. Dream smiles brightly as he admires George's passion.

"That Art History degree really is paying off, do you really think you need to study?" Dream jokes, placing his hand over his mouth as he laughs. George rolls his eyes playfully and chuckles, "It's one of my favorites." Dream's eyes widen slightly and he smirks softly, "I guess it's meant to be that we're here right now."

"Tell me about yourself; you've seen me use my degree, I wanna see you use yours" George states. Dream raises his eyebrows in amusement, "Well, I can't really write you something at the moment, but I can talk about some of my favorite English Literature works" George nods, "Go ahead." Dream sighs, "Uh, I enjoyed To Kill a Mockingbird, Macbeth, The Great Gatsby, The Bell Jar, and this may be weird but I quite enjoyed Pride and Prejudice. I enjoy them for the reality they write about; they could be real and fantasy at the same time, that mesmerizes me." George smiles softly.

"So why English Literature?" George smirks as he sips his coffee. Dream stares at the foliage around them, then smiles back at George. "It provides transferable skills that teach people to deconstruct and analyze in order to provide a critical viewpoint in all areas such as British Literature, American Literature, World Literature, and more. Plus, we also can dive into creative writing and other aspects, and I adore poetry and screenwriting" Dream explains.

He takes out Pride and Prejudice from his bag and places it on the table.
"Give it a read" he suggests, sliding it across the table. George chews his lip gently in thought, then picks it up.
"I promise you that you will enjoy it" Dream grins. George bends an eyebrow down, but places it into his own bag. "Okay" he responds.

"Now, reversing it back to you: why Art History?" Dream questions, crossing his arms playfully as he leans back in his chair. George's face immediately brightens, "I adore art, especially old art. It's like with The Bathing Pool, Renaissance art is just to die for. It feels so comforting and it's so pleasant to look at. I also love to learn about History and watch it grow and evolve. Witnessing and learning about the time periods and about these wonderful works of art is just so cathartic." Dream smiles and nods, "That's very neat. I admire that" George smiles and sips his coffee again, "Thank you. I admire yours too." Dream grins and glances down at his bag. Neither him nor George have taken their work out to study. Dream smirks and looks back at George.

"I wanna know more" Dream places his elbows on the table and rests his head on one of his hands. George's eyes widen slightly and he leans in closer too.
"Like what?" he questions. Dream stares out the window and takes a deep breath, then he glances back at George. "When's your birthday?" he asks. George traces his finger across the lines on the small table, "November first, and you?" George is shocked by how calm and comforting Dream is; he never drops his smile. "August twelfth" he answers.

George replicates Dream's bright smile. For a moment it falters though, as he realizes they won't celebrate Dream's birthday together.
