Laura was in the library with her potions partner who appeared to be daydreaming, however considering the fact that it was a quarter to four on a Friday afternoon, she was "afternoon-dreaming" perhaps. Laura continued jotting down all the important things one should keep in mind when brewing the truth serum. The fact that her partner's contribution was almost negligible didn't bother Laura, if anything it was a relief. She was used to doing things alone and would probably brew a better potion that way.
A loud and dramatic gasp broke her out of her trance, she looked up in a start; Mckinnon had her chin resting on her the palms of her hands whilst staring at the 'Marauders', sorry a Marauder. Sirius seemed to be smirking in Marlene's direction, Laura couldn't help but roll her eyes as her partner exclaimed in awe "He looked at me!" once Sirius had gone back to his muffled conversation with James Potter. "Oh for Salazar's sake" Laura scoffed before looking up at Marlene and saying, "I think we are done for today" as she started gathering her belongings. Marlene nodded still staring at Black, Laura just shook her head and started making her way out. "Hey Lestrange" a voice called after her and soon the person stood in front of her blocking her path, and of course it was Sirius. "What do you want?" Laura asked annoyed "Woah, Woah I just said hey, no need to go all mean on me," he said and so she crossed her arms gesturing him to continue. "I just wanted to know something," he said softly looking at her, "About what?" she asked furrowing her eyebrows. "About my brother," he said "How is he?" he continued after a pause, his face now changing to a one with concern. Laura resisted a scoff "How is he?" she repeated looking at him with a look of slight amusement and disbelief. After Sirius stayed silent guilt making his way onto his face as he looked down at his show, Laura sighed wanting to get over with this conversation as soon as she could "Good" she said softly after a while "Very good" she added looking at him again and keeping a blank face. Sirius looked up a glint in his eyes as he smiled "He got in the team, didn't he? He is the Slytherin seeker isn't he?" he asked again blocking Laura's another attempt to walk away. "Why don't you ask him yourself ?" she said in an irritated tone, "You know why," he said softly his cheerful face falling. Laura groaned and "Yes he is the Slytherin seeker," she said hoping he would let her go now and yet again he blocked her as his face lit up, this seemed to be going in the same loop. "That's grea-" Sirius was cut off mid-sentence by a high pitched voice "Hey Sirius! Would you like to walk me to my dorm?" Marlene asked batting her eyelashes as she stood beside Laura looking over at Sirius. Laura smirked with the thought that at least her potions partner wasn't completely useless, she took her chance of walking past Sirius.
Laura walked inside the common room, she was supposed to see Regulus there that evening as they haven't seen each other much over the week. Regulus being busy with his Quidditch practices and Laura busy being a sixth year at Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As she looked around the common room she didn't spot Regulus, Laura sighed her shoulders slouching and heart-sinking slightly as she sat down on a couch staring at the flames being emitted from crackling wood. She rested her head on her knees wrapping her hands and hugging them. Laura didn't know for how long she had been staring at the common room fire, but the common room was now empty, everyone had gone up to their dorms it seemed. Laura stood up realising it was really late and also that Regulus had stood her up, a groan escaped her mouth as she made her way to her dorm. Laura shut the door behind her as she tiptoed her way to her four-poster bed, all her dormmates were asleep and she didn't want to wake them up.
It was a Hogsmeade weekend Laura was woken up by the excited voices of her dormmates, however, she didn't get up from her bed feeling just too lazy to do so. But from what she heard her dormmates had dates and they were excited about it. After a while of just laying pointlessly, Laura dragged herself out of bed. She had only been to Hogsmeade once in third year, it wasn't like Laura didn't like Hogsmeade it was just that she preferred sitting in her dorm all alone and finishing all her weekend's homework thus making her rest of the weekend completely free. But what really was the problem, was Laura always found that people can be overwhelming. Maybe she had gotten that from growing up in a big and empty manor with no visitors and its large doors closed shut all the time. It would've suffocated any other person, with its dark and dull appearance, people walking past the house would've just considered it to be desolate as there never was a sound to be heard, that could prove any presence of life in the house. The house-elves would do their jobs silently in the dungeons, below the manor and the residents of the house could be described by the same words used to describe the house; dull, lifeless, quite dark from the inside but quite pale in the appearance standing tall and isolated with their heads held high.
