Laura walked out of the Great Hall, looking around trying to find Sirius, as she walked into the empty courtyard, Laura could swear she saw a boy sitting and crying by the water fountain but in a blink of an eye, there was no one there. The boy seemed to have just vanished into the thin air, for one no one could apparate inside the walls of the castle. Laura shook her head considering it to be a trick of the eyes, however, she walked towards the fountain. A black dog was hiding near the fountain whimpering softly, Laura knelt down and looked at the creature "Hey" she said tilting her head and examining its big grey eyes. The dog whimpered and stepped backwards, "It's okay I'm not going to hurt you, I was just looking for this boy you see, he is kinda sad too." Laura said in an attempt to calm it down, the dog's ears perked up and it sat down, she sighed and sat down too "I know why he feels that way, I understand very well but I don't know what to say to him, comforting people is not really one of my strengths, Regulus asked me to go talk to him, he feels bad for his brother too you know. But I just don't want Sirius to feel worse, I mean what if I say something wrong?" Laura stopped her rant, oh how she could just laugh at herself right now, venting to a dog? who was looking anxious enough before she came. But when Laura looked at the dog again this time she saw that it had calmed down and appeared to listen to her, with its head tilted slightly and a pair of big grey eyes fixated on her. "Feeling better, eh?" Laura asked clucking softly as she scratched the dog's neck, it made some soft grunting noises. "Aye well, I've got to go now, need to find Sirius don't I?" she said standing up, after straightening up she started walking towards the corridors in search of the brunette. Sirius now transformed back to himself as he sat down by the fountain again, the fact that others could relate to him and that his brother still cared for him, maybe less than ever but at least he cared enough to send his friend to come and comfort him, this made him feel better. He sat there looking at the fountain for a while but then he remembered that Laura was looking for him now. Feeling the need that he should at least go and tell her that he was feeling better now, Sirius stood up. But he didn't wasn't sure where he should be looking for her, suddenly he knew where to find her, so Sirius started making his way to the astronomy tower. And indeed Laura was there, standing on the edge and looking out. "Hey," he said softly "Hey," Laura said too not looking at him, "Are your parents the same way?" he asked after a while "What way?" Laura questioned absentmindedly. "You know, not really caring about what you feel or think, not taking your opinion to be of any importance," he said looking at her. Laura was still not facing him "Maybe," she said. But Sirius knew the answer "Don't you ever feel like standing up to them? To tell them that what you feel and think matters?" he asked. "It won't change a thing, you know it. If anything it would just make things worse." Laura said now looking at him straight in the eyes. "So you are just going to keep on doing what they tell you to do? Let them control your life for you?" He said his tone lacing with mockery. "You don't get it, do you? Not everyone wants to fight the rules, we don't have a choice. It's something you can't change, we belong from very important families and things are expected of us, we have no choice but to do as told, that's how it's always been." Laura tried to explain but Sirius simply scoffed. "Well, what else could I have possibly expected you to say? You are the 'perfect' child your parents want you to be, but you're just not quite yourself " he said. Laura smiled and then shook her head "So what you're suggesting is that I'm fake? Honestly how much do you think you know me, Black?" she said stepping forward". "Enough to know you're trying to be someone you are not." he said his voice rising "Oh yeah? If I can remember properly this is the longest conversation we have ever had." she snapped and Sirius knew how wrong she was, he wanted to tell her that they had had a perfectly nice and long encounter in the past but he didn't. "Have you thought about the possibility, that some of us like our lives the way they are? I love my parents and I don't seem to have any difficulty in following what they ask me to do without throwing fits like you." she said. And Sirius laughed slightly "Lestrange don't be so naive for all I know you're parents could be now at a bloody pureblood's tea party setting you up with Evan." he said smirking. Sirius knew how she despised Evan Rosier, Laura's expression however didn't change a bit "You don't know what you're talking about," she said walking past him "But you do!" Sirius yelled after her.
