Nothing Can Stop Love

Chapter 14

Eliza

I saw Tom leaving the hospital and Cedric drowning in tears in his office. Tom's return made things get bad. I can't just chose a side, it wouldn't be fair to them both. I run behind Tom and stop him.

"Tom wait, you can't just go." he turns around and I realize he's been crying. His eyes are red and puffy and his eyes scream for help.

"I'm coming back tomorrow. Now leave me alone please, thanks." he takes my hand off his shoulder and leaves. I turn to Jenna at the reception who has been checking people the whole day. Normally every drama is at the reception. If she knows any secret, it's her. I walk over at her desk, only to see she's watching YouTube.

"Jenna, what do you think you're doing?" she looks up at me, not even trying to hide the fact that she's not working.

"if people don't check up or I don't have people to check up on I'm relaxing." She pauses and puts her glasses on. "Do you need something?" I nod.

"I wanna know if you could help me, you know, get Tom and Cedric back together?" she sighs. I know she hates messing with people's lives but these are my friends and i'd do anything for them. Jenna saw the determination written all over my face. She looked at her watch and sighed.

"My shift ends in 2 minutes. Come back then." she gave me a smile and went back at watching youtube while eating pasta. I really need to check the reception more. I walk away and see Maggie coming from Cedric's office. She stopped with acting and is a lawyer now. Cedric's lawyer to be excact. 

"Hi Eliza, I dropped off his papers to sign. Make sure he does, ok? I don't want that women screaming at my head again." She smiles and pets my shoulder. "I trust you Eliza. I know he hates to sign those papers, but he lost in court." 

"Yeah, only because she bribed them." My anger was hearable in my voice.

"I know Eliza, but I can't do anything about it. I'm only a lawyer. So make sure he signs the papers and turn them in tomorrow at my bureau." she walks away. 3 years ago, Cedric's wife appeared out of nowhere wanting Cedric's house. Cedric didn't wanted to give his house to her, so they got in court. But since his ex had enough money to bribe the judges, Cedric lost his house. And now the situation with Tom made Cedric's world collapse.

I look at Maggie and nod. "I will." she smiles and leaves. I enter Cedric's office and see his signing the papers. He sees me coming in and gives me a fake smile. Jenna comes in and sees us.

"Oh uh sorry for interupting, but" she looks at me "but Eliza wanted to talk to me?" i nod and leave Cedric's office. I walk with Jenna at my house and give her a cup of coffee.

"What did you wanted to talk about?" I sigh. "Cedric and Tom need to get it together. Cedric is falling apart cuz of his house taken away from him and if Tom leaves again, he would be more devastated." I sip from the coffee.

"Maybe you should tell Cedric to marry Tom, and then reveal that he's not dead to the world? Only if Tom would want that. Or not reveal at all and have a little wedding with everyone from the hospital." actually, that wasn't a bad idea at all. "that could actually work. Thanks Jenna." she smiles. She packs her bag and leaves. I run back to the hospital and enter Cedric's office. He looks up surprised.

"Eliza, where have you been. You know I can't run a hospital by myself." I sign. Yes I know that he can't run a hospital by himself. He proved it 2 years ago, when he let the nurses have a party and it ended up blowing up the hospital.

"I need to tell you something. First, do you love Tom?" he gives me a look.

"What do you mean if I love Tom. Of course I love him. He's my whole world." I nod. I had to prepare myself for this cause I didn't knew if he would want to.

"Okay, next question can be a little personal." Cedric gulped. "Do you wanna marry Tom?" Cedric froze. He looked around and started getting red.

"uh y-yeah"  he looked at the ground. I smiled.

"Then u should propose to him. And you don't need to make it public that Tom didn't die." I smile. He nods and hugs me.

"Thanks Eliza, what would I do without you." he takes his coat amd leaves. Now I hope Tom says yes.
