Chapter 15

Cedric

I sit in my office, nervous with the ring in the box on my desk. I told Tom to come in my office cuz I wanted to talk to him. I didn't told him that I would propose to him. Eliza comes in my office and sees the box on my desk and her eyes start shimmering. I smile and show her the box as she smiles.

"He's gonna love it Cedric, I'm sure of it." she pets my shoulder. I really hope he does. I don't like it when he's angry at me. I hear a knock on my door and a nurse comes in.

"Dr. Gherkin? Miss Gyllenhaal needs you at the reception. You didn't send her the papers you signed." I sigh.

"Right, I forgot. Lemme find them and give them to her." she nods and leaves. Eliza looks at me with sad eyes. I don't need her to pity me. I get up, grab the papers from my drawer and leave the office.

"Ah Cedric, there you are. Michelle was banging on my office because you didn't give me the papers." I nod.

"I'm sorry, but I forgot to give them to you. Here. Now I need to get back to work." I wanted to say that I wanted to propose to Tom, but I forgot she didn't knew he is alive.

"Also, before you go. I need you in 3 days at my place. We're gonna make it 6 years that Tom died." it's still weird for me to think people don't know he's alive. 4 years ago, his family and friends were devastated. Maggie had an eating disorder because of this and Zendaya tried several times to kill herself because she couldn't live without Tom.

"I will be there. Don't worry." she smiles. Her eyes have sadness in them and I have the urge to shout that he's alive but that would be betraying Tom's privacy.

Maggie grabs the papers and leaves. I go back to my office and I see Eliza talking with Jenna. Since they made me - or better said - suggested to marry Tom, they've become friends.

"I was thinking." Jenna said looking at me. "Who's gonna be who's best man? Or women. Cuz like, ur 2 men, so it's gonna have to be best men. Or are we gonna break the rules and put best men and women." Eliza snickers. I sigh.

"Jenna, I don't know. We'll talk about that if we get there. I still have to ask Tom." she nods.

"Alright alright sorry. But what's with the sad face."

"Well, what do you expect? My ex is literally stealing my house."

"She won."

"Jenna, I told you, she bribed them and won. If you're a millionaire you can do everything." I slam on my hand on the desk. "she's the owner of a big company. Of course she gets everything she wants."

"Cedric, calm down."

"Why would I. It's not like me proposing to Tom would make everything better!" we hear a thud and see Tom in the doorway looking shocked.

"Tom i-" he looks at me.

"You- you wanted to propose to m- me?" I sigh.

"That's not how I wanted you to find out but yes, I did. Well, say goodbye to the surprise." Eliza and Jenna leave, leaving me with a shocked Tom in the doorway. I grab the box from my desk, close the door and stand with one knee in front of Tom. He starts tearing up.

"Thomas Stanley Holland, would you make me the happiest person alive and marry me?"
He stands there frozen in time prossesing what I just said.

"Yes, yes, YES!" He jumps on me and starts smuthering me with kisses. I put the ring on his ring finger and he starts crying for real now. He's adorable. Eliza and Jenna watch from the window as they take pics. This day can't get any better.

"Cedric! Michelle is searching for you!" I spoke too soon. I leave Tom in my office as I walk out of my office and meet an angry Michelle with a Louis Vuitton bag.

"Ugh, there you are. What are you doing here? He have to do something in court." she spits the words.

"What? We had it already. You won by bribing the judges."

"I did?" ugh I hate her fake tone. "oh well, I forgot, hahaha. You're gonna be homeless now, hah. I need the keys."

"Michelle, you'll get the keys when you'll get them. The judges said I have 6 months left to live in the house. So Im not giving you the keys now. If you'll excuse me, I need to get back to work." I leave and go back in my office to see Tom smiling at the engagement ring. He sees me coming in.

"Cedric, are you okay?" I nod but Tom always sees through me. "No, you're not okay. Do you want some alone time. Peace?" I nod and he kisses my forehead as he leaves. Ugh, I hate bringing him in my personal life and my past. He doesn't need to know my problems. I don't wanna bring him in my problems. I sit at my desk crying. Why can't all this be over. Tom is the only one who keeps my life balanced and I wouldn't want to lose him. Not again. I fall asleep on my desk smiling thinking about Tom.
