Chimera

Chapter one

   I open my eyes and my eyes land upon the ceiling above me. It was dark and there were tubes and wires going along it. I look to my sides of me and notice tubes coming down from a large machine and the tubes were connecting painfully to my body. I let out a scream and tried to move my hands but there were straps tied around my arms and ankles so that I couldn't move them. There was a loud buzzing noise that I heard all around me in every direction. "Somebody help me please" I scream but it looks like nobody else was down here. I try to break free from the straps but nothing worked.

And then, I saw something, or someone huge. He was walking towards me and he was wearing a weird mask. "Let me go" I say as tears run down my face. "Your condition worsens" the guy says in a low voice along with some buzzing. "What does that mean?" I ask but he says nothing and grabs a long sharp knife and pulls my shirt up to my chest and sticks the knife in me and I scream. The burning on my stomach getting worse every time he cuts deeper. He gets one of the tubes hanging on the machine and he sticks it into my stomach then leaves me there alone. I don't know where he had gone but I was now alone with the painful burning sensation on my stomach and my shirt still pulled up to my chest.

I see two shadows in the darkened room. "Help me" I whisper and the shadows move closer and there were two boys standing on either side of me but they looked like normal teenage boys. One had dark brown hair and light blue eyes and the other had light hair and he seemed to be bleeding from his mouth but he was bleeding silver. "We're gonna get you out of here, just try not to move." The one with dark hair says. "Who are you?" I whisper as I feel pressure on one of the tubes in my arms. I look and see one of them had their hands wrapped around the tube and was trying to pull it out. I let out a scream. They let the tube go. "I know it hurts but trust us, you'll heal, we did and so can you." Said the boy with the lighter hair. I nod and feel hot tears run down my face as they try to pull the tubes out again.

After all the tubes were painfully pulled out one by one, they freed my hands and ankles from the straps and helped me sit up on the table. "You think you could walk?" One of them asked and I nod my head. The one with the lighter hair grabbed my arms softly and tried to help me stand but when my feat reached the floor, I collapsed on him and he had to steady me with the help of the other one. "Let's get her outta here" one of them said and they led me out of that awful place and we were heading to a car and they set me in the back seat with the boy with the lighter hair. I winced at the pain in my body and the boy with the dark hair started the car and drove onto the street and away from that place.

"I'm Theo by the way." The guy driving says. "I-I'm Sierra, and you?" I say nervously and look to the boy next to me. "I'm Corey" he says. "Can y'all please explain to me what that place was." I say after a few minutes of silence. "That place, was the dread doctors lab, they had given you special abilities and you were one of the failures." Theo says. "How did I fail? I thought I was doing good." I say. "Yeah, we all think that at a certain time but it happens." Corey says silently. "What are your abilities?" Corey asks me. "I'm a werewolf" I say. "What are y'all?" I ask. "I'm a werecoyote" Theo says. "I can make my self invisible" Corey adds and I raise my eyebrow. "I've never met anybody who can make them selves invisible " I say. "So, Sierra, where do you live?" Theo asks from the drivers seat up front. "I live on 24th street" I say. "Who are your guardians? I bet they must be worried." Corey says. "I actually don't have anyone who looks after me, I live on my own." I say and look down at my hands. "How do you pay the bills and stuff like that?" Theo asks and looks at me through the mirror above him. "They've already been paid off a couple years ago by my step mom, that's also when she left me alone to go be with her boyfriend." I say and feel my face get hot. "Do you want us to stay for a while?" Corey asks and I see my house coming into view and Theo parks in the driveway. "Yes." I say and open the door and walk up my driveway and Theo and Corey follow closely behind.

"You know y'all don't have to stay if y'all don't want." I say quietly. "The dread doctors could still be after us, we need to stick together." Theo says. "Y'all don't have family who worry bout y'all?" I ask. "Mine are dead, I've been living in my car..." Theo says. "I don't have anyone either, I've been here and there, sometimes I would stay with Liam Dunbar at his house." Corey says. "I'm sorry, if y'all want, you can stay here for a while, there's a guest bedroom." I say. "Oh and who's Liam dunbar?" I ask Corey. "He's a friend of mine, you'll meet him soon." Corey says and I nod and we head inside. "Have you healed?" Theo asks and I look down at my shirt and lift it and notice the blood and all my wounds were completely gone. "Good" Theo and Corey say in unison.

"What time is it?" Corey asks as we reach the living room and I check at the clock on the wall. "8:20" I say. "We're still going to school aren't we?" Corey asks Theo. "We have to, school will protect us since there's people and the more people there is, the better so it's best not to be alone in the hallways." Theo says. "When will we talk to Scott and his pack?" Corey asks. "Tomorrow morning, they're usually in the library in the morning so that's when we'll talk to them about this situation." Theo says.

"I'm gonna go to bed." I say and stand up from my spot on the couch."upstairs to the left is the guest bedroom with a guest bathroom, the closet has some of my step moms boyfriends clothes, I doubt he'll come back for them so help y'all selves to them." I say and they nod. "I'll sleep down here." Corey says and sits on one of the couches. "I guess I'll head upstairs." Theo says and he follows me upstairs. "Hey Sierra?" Theo says quietly. "Yeah?" I ask. "I just wanted to thank you, you know, for letting us stay here with you." Theo says. "Oh, your welcome, I just couldn't stand to be alone here anymore so stay as long as y'all like." I say and he smiles as I turn to walk to my bedroom to get ready for bed and instantly fell asleep once my head touched the pillow.
