Chimera

Chapter five

At school, we had to meet Scott and the others in the library again to tell him what had happened. Theo says that the dread doctors probably wanted to send me a message that they were gonna be coming really soon. Corey agrees with me that it was probably just a night mare and that I shouldn't worry about anything at the moment.

We found Scott and the others at their usual table in the library talking. Scott and stiles heads pop up once we enter the library and Scott stands up right away. "I got theos message, everything alright?" Scott asks and I nod my head. "What could it mean?" Stiles asks. "I'm not sure, I think I know what to do, but it's painful." Scott says. "I don't care, just do it." I say. "Okay but not here, meet me at the animal clinic after school." Scott says and I nod. "Theo, you'll drive her to the animal clinic, and bring towels." Scott says. "Okay." Theo says uncertainly. "I'm going too, I don't really wanna risk being on my own and being taken by the dread doctors." Corey says and Theo nods. "Good." Scott says and gathers his belongings and stiles stands up and walks with Scott to his class. "You don't look to good Sierra, you sure you want to be here?" Corey asks. "I'm fine, really, just a little nervous, what is Scott going to do to me?" I ask and Corey squeezes one of my shoulder. "He is going to submerge you in ice water to trigger your memories." Theo says and grabs his backpack off from the floor and slides it over his shoulder. The bell rang and Corey loosens his grip from my shoulder and we gather our things and head to class.

During my last class, biology, I sat at the large table full of chemicals, Corey was my science partner, Theo had physics this period. I grab a beaker that was full with some greenish liquid and shake it around until it turned the color purple. "Very good Sierra and Corey, y'all have an A for today." Mrs. Rogers says as she stands in front of our table and then makes her way to other students to examine their work and give them their grades. "How many minutes left of class?" I ask. "About fifteen minutes, you in a rush?" Corey asks. "Just thinking about what's about to happen at the animal clinic, will it hurt?" I ask and she shrugs his shoulders. "Never tried it but Scott seems to know what he's doing." Corey replies and I smile.

The bell finally rang and Corey and I both jumped out of our seats and got our bags and went off towards the front of the school and met stiles and Scott in the parking lot. "Ready?" Scott asks and I nod nervously. "Nothing to be afraid of, stiles and I have been through this." Scott says and I follow Theo to his car and we followed closely behind stiles' Jeep.

It wasn't long until we arrived at the animal clinic, we all got out of our vehicles and went inside. A guy was in there and he seemed to be carrying two large bags of ice. "Come on in, you must be Sierra." He says and I nod. "Scott told me everything that's been happening, about the dread doctors, how they're still trying to get to you three, and about your nightmare." He says and walks forward towards me. "Here Scott, go fill that tub with ice and water." He says and hands Scott and stiles the bags with ice and they went towards the back of the clinic. "Can I see your hand?" The guy asks and I nod and place my hand on top of his. "Werewolf?" He asks and I nod. "Have you noticed anything strange." He asks and I shrugged. "Mercury blood?" He asked and I shook my head. "Only in my dream." I say. "Hey boss, it's ready." I hear Scott say and the guy turns around. "Let's get started then." He says and I turn around and Theo and Corey nod at me and follow me to the back of the clinic where there was a body sized tub filled with water and ice." "Is this dangerous?" I ask. "Very." Scott's boss says.

I sit on a chair and take my shoes off then stand up. "You ready?" Theo says getting to one side of the tub. "Corey you on the other side, Scott, behind her." Scott's boss says. I set a foot inside the tub and a strong tingle shoots up my leg and I gasp and hold onto the sides of the tub and place my other foot inside and slowly start to sit down until I feel my butt hit the bottom of the tub and I gasp desperately for breathe. "Your alright, this won't take long." Theo whispers in my ear the leans in towards me and kisses my lips softly. "Okay let's begin." Scott's boss says and then I feel myself being pushed under the ice cold water.

I feel my face come above the water and I hear myself scream. "Sierra, I need you to remember your dream, what did they want, did they want you or were they looking for something else?" Scott's boss asks. "I don't know" I say breathlessly and I was pushed down again to the point that I thought I felt like I was drowning. The pain from the ice cold water going through my arms and legs and I felt my mind drift off to last night and about the nightmare. The dread doctors were there  and I was on the ground and they had me and I was screaming to be let go. "Where is it?" I heard one of them say. I don't remember them saying much in my nightmare but this one was a little different. Maybe I was screaming too much to hear them but they were looking for something. "The book, where is it?" One of them says again and I felt my face above the water again and I opened my eyes.

"The book." I say. "What book?" Scott asks. "The dread doctors book." Theo finally says Corey and Scott turns to look at him, stiles in the back looking down at me. "You have the book and that's what they're looking for and they won't stop until it's in their hands." Scott's boss says and looks at me still in the tub. "Hurry, take her out." Scott's boss says and Scott and Corey help me stand and I walk out and Theo wraps me in a towel. "I still don't get it, what do they want with the book?" I ask shaking and Theo holds onto my shoulders. "They want it so that we don't open our eyes." Scott's boss says. "What do you mean by open our eyes?" Corey asks. "Open our eyes to them, they don't want us to know anything about them so that we don't find a way to destroy them." Scott's boss says. "So what do we do with the book?" Scott asks. "The best thing we can do, we have to read it."
