10 ~

When we were close enough I take my school robes out of my trunk. "I suggest you three get changed while I'm gone," I tell them as I leave. I make my way to the bathroom and get quickly get changed. Astara sat in the sink while I did. I fold my previous outfit neatly on the side, I pull on a pair of skin colour tights along with my grey pleated skirt white button-up. Once the shirt is tucked into the skirt I pull on my black jumper with the Hogwarts logo and plain black tie. I replace both of my holsters in their correct places along with my rings. I step into my shoes from earlier before picking up my clothes after placing my robes on.

My familiar climbs back into my robes and I make my way back to our compartment. I knock on the door to let the boys know I'm done before walking in. They were still in the process of getting dressed but I turn my back to them and busy myself with placing my clothes back into my trunk. I feed Accius a few treats since he finally decided to wake up. Once I'm done I decide to leave my trunk where it was since It was going to get sent to my room anyway, along with Accius and his cage. I could see all three of the boys blush slightly as I take my seat again and continue to read. I fight the erg to coo at how adorable they all look.

Once they are done they all sit down. Without looking up I speak up from behind my book. "Crabbe, you forgot your tie. Goyle, you need to tuck your shirt in and Draco your collar is sticking up on your left side." Their eyes widen slightly before they fix their uniform.

When they are done I look up at them and, bite back a grin at their puppy-like expressions as they await my approval. I give them a polite smile "Better." They each look proud and go back to their conversation.

When we reach Hogwarts I put my book away and follow the boys out. As we exit the train I walk past the Lady from before along with the train conductor, I wink to the lady and she gives me a smile. We walk over the where Hagrid was calling us over. "Firs'-years! firs'-years over here! Come on follow me - any more firs' years? Mind yer step, now! Firs'-years follow me!" We all follow after him, a majority of the students stumbling to keep up with Hagrids' large steps. I spot Neville sniffling and I walk over to him. I place my hand in his and give it a reassuring squeeze. "Wipe your eyes. and stand proud. You can do this" He gives me a thankful look and wipes his eyes with his sleeve. I watch as he takes a few deep breaths to calm his nerves. I roll my eyes when I notice he was missing Trevor again. I look around to make sure no one is watching and summon him to me. I act as if I'm picking something up and hand him to my brother. "I believe this one belongs to you".

I smile at his happy expression. I was going to make sure I helped him with his confidence this year. And maybe during the yule break, I can take him to get his own wand since I knew his father's old one wouldn't work for him. I had received an update about Alice and Frank and was happy to know that they would both be back my Christmas. The perfect surprise for Neville.

I place a kiss on his cheek before turning back to Draco and his friends. "I hope you don't mind but I'm going to ride over with my brother, he's a bit nervous"

"Of course, Lady Potter." I knew he was only using my title now because there were people around. The few people that heard us stopped and looked at me wide-eyed. "Thank you for understanding, Heir Malfoy." With that, I join Neville for the rest of the walk up to the boats.

"No more'n four to a boat" Hagrids voice booms out in the dark as Neville and I step into a boat. Neville gets in before me, before I can get in Draco moves to stand next to me and holds his hand out. I smile and place my hand in his, using him for balance as I step in. Once I'm sat down and he's satisfied that I won't fall he lets go and joins his friends in a different boat. Hermione joins us as well as Ronald.

As the boat starts moving I turn my head up at look at the stars "It's beautiful" my voice is quiet and filled with amazement. I had never seen the stars so bright before. It was as if the magic in the air made them brighter. when we get closer to the Castle Hagrid shouts for us to watch our heads as the boats begin pulling us through a curtain of ivy. Once through we find ourselves in an underground harbour.

Once the boats stop Neville gets out before me and holds his hand out to help me out. I take it and turn around, repeating his actions for Hermione. I knew Dumbledore expected us to become friends so I had to at least be nice to them. I continue to walk in with Neville, I don't know how but he managed to lose Trevor again in the 20 steps he took from to boat to the door.

"Oy, you there! Is this your toad?" Hagrid says as he points to the toad that was on the floor by his huge feet. Neville jumps forward in glee and scoops up the forever escaping toad. Hagrid then knocks on the wooden door three times. The door swings open to reveal Minnie dressed in her usual emerald green robes and black pointed hat. "The firs'-years, Professor McGonagall"

"Thank you, Hagrid. I will take it from here." She pulls the door wide open and motions us to follow her.
