If Sophie learned one thing from the past week's events it was that life was hard, especially when you have an evil rebel group trying to murder you and you're friends. Sophie was tired of it all. Why could she not live her life as a normal elven teen? Why did she have to be the only powerful, Genetically modified Elf?
In the past weeks the Neverseen had become especially power-hungry and revengeful. After her and her friends had burnt down the Neverseen storage house they had made it their only goal to kill Sophie and her friends. The Neverseen had spies everywhere. In fact, the Black swan was sure that they had a traitor in their mists, selling info on Sophie and her friend's whereabouts causing the countless attacks.
*knock*, "Yes?" Sophie said.
"Sophie Someone's here." Edline said peeking into the room. Sophie turned away from the window where she had been spacing off. "Who is it?" she asked
"Mr.Forkle, now come down. He said it was urgent!"
Sophie sprinted down the stairs hoping that he had some good news. "Ahh hello Sophie, I am afraid I can't stay long so please keep your questions for the end." Mr. Forkle said as she came down, Sophie nodded. "Good then let's get to it, It is not safe for you and your friend here anymore. So me and the collective have devised a plan to move you and your friends to a secure location-"
"Bu-" Sophie interrupted, she decided she was going to dislike this conversation already.
"Sophie hold the questions, as I was saying, We have come up with a secure location for you and you're friends with all the necessary security measures already in place. But there is a catch, this place is in the forbidden cities-"
"What? How did you get the council to agree to that?"
"We did not. Which is why you need to listen before they become curious of our pendants so close together. Now please let me finish, This place is a camp of sorts. It is called camp Half-Blood. This is a camp for special children in which the world is not safe for."
"So kids like me?" Sophie asked, she was on the tip of her seat as she listened to Mr. Forkle tell her about this camp Half-Blood.
"Um sorta, you see this is a place for DemiGods."
"WHAT?" Sophie was astonished to hear that. The last time she heard about DemiGods, was when she was reading some of her favorite books back with her human family in the forbidden cities. She wasn't even sure that elves knew about DemiGods.
"Yes... I was expecting that reaction. You see the Greek Gods are real and every now and then they have a few children. The camp director owed me a favor and he would love to have you and your friends join them. They will teach you different fighting Techniques as well as keeping you safe. I already packed some human clothing for you and we will be leaving soon." He said while passing her a suitcase full of human clothing. "All your friends will be here in 3 hours. From here we will use a special leaping crystal to Get to the camp. And please wear something nice, You kids might not get this but a first impression is very important. Please use this time to pack some formal clothing as well as your weapons and anything else you might need. Now for the questions."
Sophie knew she had so many questions spiraling in her head but she was too dumbfounded about hearing this to say anything, but thankfully Edline asked a question for her. "What about us?"
"We are still working out the tweaks for your safe house but in a few days we will collect you and Grady and move you to a safe house... and we will make sure nothing happens to your daughter. Now hurry Sophie, time is never on our side."
3 Hours later
Sophie was sitting on her bed watching Edaline finish packing. *knock *knock...
"I'll get it!" Grady yelled From downstairs. "Sophie it is Mr.Forkle and you're friends!"
"Oh dear, we should go and greet them" Edaline said, trying to hide a tear rolling down her cheek.
"I will be fine Mom, and if anything bad happens I'll just reach out telepathically." said Sophie, "I know this is really hard" Sophie reached up and gave her a tight hug, "now come on, we can't leave them waiting!"
"When they got down stairs they found a group of people and a pile of luggage ( most of it was Bianca's). Edaline snapped her fingers to conjure Sophie's luggage to the pile. "Hi guys!" said Sophie as she came downstairs. A chorus of 'hiiii' rang around the room. Sophie had a look around and found the collective, her friends and her friend's parents all in a big crowd in the living room. In a far corner, Keefe stood alone. When he saw her staring he gave her a wink, and slowly a blush crept up Sophie's cheeks.
"Okay everyone listen up!" "Mr. Forkle yelled. "We need to get the kids on their way. We are an easy target just standing here!" He pulled a cobalt blue crystal out of his pocket. "Okay everyone, make a circle and puts your luggage in the middle!" They did so, but not before they were smothered in hugs and kisses from their parents. Edaline whispered in Sophie's ear, "in the silver bag I packed you some Mallow melt!" Sophie smiled gratefully.
Once everyone was ready, Mr. Forkle held the crystal up and they disappeared to their next adventure.
