Never Again (MikaYuu)

CH 12: Clearance

"So, how's your nightmares? Do you still have trouble falling asleep?" Guren asked over the phone. Yuu haven't called him for quite a while, so he figured that it won't hurt to give him a call. And maybe, he can tell him about the mess he is currently in.

He is walking down the hallway, his phone in his grasp. He is heading towards his dorm after breakfast at the cafeteria. Thankfully, he didn't sleep through his alarm that day.

"I'm fine, the insomnia pills have been helping a lot. Thanks for sending them. I am getting some unusual nightmares, though. I've dreamt of it before, back when i was still a child. Somehow, it stopped over the year. But now it's coming back. " Yuu said, quietly sighing.

He heard Guren hummed, before replying. "Tell me about it. What does it show you?"

He took a deep breath before starting." Well, it's blurry. I think i was crying. I heard screams. And cries. Someone is laughing. And there is this kid that told me to run away each time the nightmare struck. I don't see their face, but judging by the voice, it's probably a boy. " Yuu said, clutching on his phone a little bit tighter.

"Do you see his face? " Guren asked. And Yuu tried to dive in his memory, but he don't remember any face because of how blurry it was.

"No, i didn't. But i've been calling his name in my dreams, i know i called out for him. But somehow, i can't find myself figuring out and remembering his name. It is as if something is stopping me from remembering it. " He confessed.

" Don't think about it too much, Yuu. You'll get a headache. And it's all in the past. You will get over it sometimes. " Guren assures him, but somehow, he does not find it reassuring at all.

"It have been years, Guren. You told me that you took me in when i was twelve. I am now nineteen. And those absurd nightmares about vampires are still hunting me. I am not sure if they will go away at some point. Maybe i will die with it, i don't know. " He mumbled, feeling a little distressed.

What kind of sin had he committed before, that god decided to make him experience his worst pain every single night? Is it a reminder of how horrid he is for leaving his family behind? He often ask himself, does he deserve it all?

" Let's not talk about this anymore. So, anything interesting happened? " Guren asked him.

" A lot. " He chuckled.

"Tell me about it."

"So, it's just the usual thing. Shinoa being Shinoa, games, day dreaming in the middle of a lecture, maybe a little spark of interest for someone? " Yuu said. " And about that, i found my soulmate. " He confessed. The line was quiet for a while.

" Guren? You there? "

" What?! You found your soulmate?! When?!" He heard Guren said, and he chuckled at how exaggerating he sounds.

" Gosh, relax. Not long, just a few days ago. We kind of kissed on a stupid truth or dare game Shinoa made. It was chaos. "

" How is this person? A girl, a boy? " Guren asked curiously.

"It's a guy. And a vampire." He said.

"Wait, hold on. He is not forcing himself onto you, is he? You'll never deal with vampires on your own will. I swear if he did, i'll kill him. " Guren threatened, and he smiled. Oh, how he missed Guren and his over protective nature. It's really sweet, but sometimes, it can get annoying.

"No he didn't. I can say that Mikaela is a nice guy. He treated me well, although i don't know him quite much yet. He didn't sleep in the same room as me for now, though. " He said.
