Kaminari was currently laying on a park bench waiting for the time where he would go pick up Jiro and Toru from their houses. He wasn't opposed to the idea (it was almost like a date!), but Jiro had been somewhat reluctant and had only agreed because she wanted to know what was going on. The girls weren't allowed to leave their house alone or go to crowded places... or to super isolated places... Essentially, the police were simply taking precautions in case that the villains had also been targeting them.

His fingers played with the stainless steel fidget ring he was wearing while staring off into space. Absentmindedly watching as the leaves above him sway in the gentle summer breeze. It had been a few days since the girls had been released from the hospital. Everything still seemed normal, but his home had received a letter from UA yesterday. They wanted to implement a dorm system on campus for the student. His parents had agreed pretty easily to it. If they were really in danger, then there was no place safer than the school literally taught by pro-heroes.

The sunlight filtering through the leaves suddenly landed on his eye making him blink out of his thoughts. Pulling out his phone, he wiggled into a sitting position. -you ready?- he texted Jiro. After a bit with no reply he decided to start heading over there anyways since it was almost time to meet up. Toru lived a couple streets away so it was actually pretty easy to set up a time to meet. Making his way out of the small park where he had been wasting time he walked down the quiet residential streets. It was the middle of summer, but not many people came out during the middle of the day, in the middle of summer, to bask in the suffocating, humid summer heat; stroll down the residential street soon had him working up a sweat. Why did they pick midday to meet up? Why not, like, evening?

Grumbling he stopped for a moment to check the map on his phone. This would actually be Kaminari's first time going to Jiro's or Toru's house. Taking the next left he stopped in front of rather big house sitting on the corner with the next street. Three stories tall with a light grey color, brick pattern to the outside.

-im outside-

Kaminari waited a few minutes before he gave a frustrated sigh. He was well aware that Jiro found him annoying, often, but it shouldn't warrant having to wait outside in the summer heat for her. He stared at the door for a few more minutes, mentally willing for her to come out; they still had to go pick up Toru and just the thought of having to walk more made him want to throw himself in a fridge. Jiro had said to just wait outside, she didn't want him coming to her door, though she didn't say why, but Kaminari was done waiting.

Trudging to the door, he sighed as he stepped under the welcome shade from the second floor overhang. Now that he was closer to the house Kaminari could hear voices coming from the sliding glass door that was conveniently next to the front door, though there were curtains for the sake of privacy.

"You ready for your date Kyoka?" He heard a woman's voice through the glass and blushed. "Mom!" Oh, that was Jiro. "It's not a date and I'm already running late." "If it's not a date then why is a boy picking you up?" This time it was a man speaking and Kaminari assumed it was her dad. "Because," he could hear the eyeroll, "I'm not allowed to go outside alone, remember?" There were footsteps accompanied by snickers and full out laughter. It was at this moment that he realized he should probably knock, who knew when Jiro would decide to come out. And maybe he could catch her on her way upstairs.

"Coming!" The door opened to reveal Jiro, except it wasn't Jiro? An older version of Jiro smiled sweetly at him. "Hello, I'm assuming you are Denki Kaminari?" Kaminari blinked. "Uh, y-yeah, that'd me." He stared at the nice woman for a second longer, her hair was the same shade and style as Jiro's and she also had earphone jacks dangling from her ears, she was well dressed in a casual business style with glasses that accentuated the roundness of her face. Suddenly he remembered his manners. "Oh, excuse me! Good afternoon..." at that moment a blonde man appeared from around the corner and smiled brightly. "What a well-mannered young man! Jiro sure has good taste!" Kaminari blushed and raised his hands reflexively, waving them around in a really good imitation of Midoriya, "W-we're just f-friends, sir! Nothing like t-that!" The blonde man simply laughed good naturedly while the woman shook her head with a little snort. "Would you like to come inside Kaminari, dear? We might've made Jiro a little late." The woman asked and smiled sheepishly.

Kaminari paused for a moment, Jiro hadn't wanted him to knock in the first place... she would probably be really mad at him if she found him inside her home. "I promise we don't bite." The man joked. Hesitantly Kaminari stepped inside and followed the two adults into a nice living room. "Oh, forgive my manners, I never introduced myself," the woman suddenly exclaimed once they were all seated and she had brought tea that Kaminari simply had been unable to refuse. "I'm Mika Jiro, Kyoka's mom, and this is my husband, Kyotoku Jiro." Kaminari breathed out a soft "Right". From her appearance it was obvious that the woman, Mrs. Jiro, was Jiro's mom, but the only resemblance with Mr. Jiro seemed to be the eyes. He blinked a few times, not really knowing what to say. "From the way you're acting, you might as well be dating Kyoka, kid." Mr. Jiro smirked, his arm draped behind over the couch, behind his wife's shoulders, cup of tea in his other hand. Kaminari blushed again, "Ah, no sir. It's really nothing like that." After a pause in which both adults seem to meticulously study him Kaminari asked. "May I ask how you know my name Mrs. Jiro?"

"See, that's the reason why we suspected you two were dating." Mrs. Jiro began, "Jiro actually talks a good amount about you here at home. Without fail she always mentions whenever you go into 'dummy mode' or other shenanigans you get into." She took a sip from her tea and smiled. "She does?" Kaminari asked and felt more self-conscious about being in Jiro's living room. Mr. Jiro nodded, suddenly a lot less playful, "You kid, are actually the first boy she has talked about since she was maybe 11." He grumbled, "She always comes home with at least one thing that you did or said, though so I must applaud you." He fixed Kaminari with a stare for a moment before smiling again. "Not a lot of boys seem to make her laugh." Kaminari laughed nervously, suddenly confused, "Thank you? Though she mostly just makes fun of me."

Mrs. Jiro nodded for a moment, "May I ask what dummy mode is? Kyoka had mentioned it but never really explained it besides 'dummy frying his brains'." Kaminari blushed in embarrassment again and Mr. Jiro raised an eyebrow. "Ah, w-well... my quirk is electrification, and it allows me to generate and cover myself in electricity. What she calls 'dummy mode' is what happens when I exceed my wattage limit and my brain short circuits. Essentially my brain stops working for about an hour." Kaminari explained and then added a quiet, "Jiro actually takes care of me often when that happens." Mr. Jiro snorts, "That would be funny kid."

Suddenly Jiro walks into the living room while looking at her phone, "I'm heading out now, Kaminari says he's waiting outside." She was wearing a dark t-shirt over pale blue shorts and fishnet leggings which, in Kaminari's opinion, looked very nice. She looked up and stopped in her tracks. "Kaminari?" Kaminari could only smile shyly, offering a little wave. "Hi?" She stared at him for a second and then whipped around to her parents. "What did you tell him?" She demanded and Kaminari could've sworn he saw a light dusting of pink on her cheeks. "Nothing much, sweetie, just how much you talk about him whenever you're home." Her dad chuckled and Kaminari gulped, watching Jiro actually blush now.

Well, at least he could die happy now.

"You picked a really nice boy too, sweetie. Cute, well-mannered, and just a touch shy." Mrs. Jiro winked at Kaminari, not noticing how her words were essentially sealing his coffin shut. "Mom!" Jiro and Kaminari were now both great impersonations of tomatoes, but before his grave could be dug any deeper his phone rang. Apologizing, quickly he pulled it out, glancing at the caller ID, "Jiro, it's Toru." She nodded, not meeting his eyes before pulling him out of the living room. She left him in the foyer so he decided he might as well answer.

"Hiya."

"Kaminari! Where are youguys? Is everything ok? Did something bad happen?" Toru began rambling beforehe cut her off. "Everything is fine, we just got delayed a little at Jiro'shouse." Toru cooed from the other end of the line before Kaminari sighed inexasperation, "It's not like that, Jiro was just running late." Just then Jirostepped out of the living room her parent's laughter trailing behind her. Shewas staring at the floor but Kaminari still caught a glimpse of her red cheeksbefore she roughly shoved him towards the door. "We're leaving now! I'll beback later!" She shouted before opening the door and shoving him outside. "Oh,that's Jiro! Tell her I say hi!" Toru hung up the phone before Kaminari got achance to respond.
