BELLAMY
I hear a voice telling me to stop. I look up and see a girl with blond hair.
"The air could be toxic," she says. I instantly dislike her.
"If the air is toxic we're dead anyway," I argue back. Then I hear my name. Octavia. She runs to me and throws her arms around me.
"Where's your wristband?" The annoying voice says again.
"Do you mind? I haven't seen my brother in a year," Octavia says.
"No one has a brother," someone says.
"That's Octavia Blake, the girl they found hidden in the floor!" Someone else says. I grab Octavia and hold her back from destroying whoever said that.
"O, give them something else to remember you by," I say. She gives me a quizzical look. "Being the first person back on earth after 97 years." Ignoring the blond girl's warning from earlier, I open the drop ship door. Octavia steps outside.
"We're back, bitches!" She yells. That's everyone's cue. We all jump out of the drop ship. I notice that the blond girl is the last one out of the drop ship. The look on her face shows nothing but joy. I almost make fun of her but the look is short lived. She yanks a piece of paper out of her jacket. I narrow my eyes at her. A map. Great, so she's not only a know-it-all, but she's the capitol's princess.CLARKE
I am studying my map when the Space Walker comes over to me.
"Hey Princess, why so serious? It's not like we died in a fiery explosion." He asks me. I respond with a glare."Try telling that to the two guys who followed you out of their seats," I say.
"You don't like being called Princess, do you Princess?" Finn asks. I look at him.
"You see that peak over there," I ask pointing at a mountain in the distance. He nods. "There is a radioactive forest in between us and out next meal. They dropped is on the wrong damn mountain," I say. I walk back over to the drop-ship door to study my map when Wells comes over. Just what I need right now. I draw something on my map.
"Where did you learn how to do that?" He asks me. I give him a pointed look. "Oh, your dad." I glare at him some more.
"Hey, cool, a map," a boy I recognize as Jasper says, "is there a bar around here so I could buy you a beer?""Back off," Wells says. He shoves Jasper when a boy named John Murphy comes over.
"Hey, hey, hey," Murphy says, "he's with me."
"Relax, we're trying to figure out here we are," Wells says.
"We're on the ground," Bellamy says, standing next to Octavia. I roll my eyes. Obviously. Wells meant where on the ground. "Is that not good enough for you?" Bellamy asks again.
"We need to find Mount Weather," Wells says, explaining. I cringe and wait for him bring up his father, Chancellor Jaha, otherwise known as the last person that everyone down here wants to hear about. "You heard my father's message; that has to be our first priority." I roll my eyes. Way to go Wells. Mess up everything, why don't you.
"Screw your father," Octavia says, "You think you're in charge here? You and your little princess?" I know she is referring to me, but I hardly care.
"You think we care who's in charge here?" I ask. I feel everyone's eyes on me. "We need to get to Mount Weather." I see everyone start to murmur about me being the princess. "Not because the Chancellor said so, but because the longer we wait, the hungrier we'll get, and the harder this will be." I say. I have everyone's attention now. They are looking between Bellamy and me. Great, so our leader down here is Bellamy Blake. Yeah, this will be great. "How long do you think these supplies will last?" I ask, continuing. "We're looking at a ten mile trek, okay? So if we want to get there before dark, we need to leave, now." My heart is pounding. Will they listen to me? For a faint second, I think they will. Then Bellamy ruins that second.
BELLAMY
Who does this princess think she is? Someone told me her name was Clarke. Apparently she was locked up for being a traitor, but I don't believe that. She is the second biggest capitol pet here, second only to Wells Jaha, the Chancellor's freaking son. I'm dying to know why he is down here. The Princess seems to hate him. "I've got a better idea," I say, cutting Clarke off from her little, noble speech, "You two go, find it for us. Let the privileged do the hard work for a change." Everyone cheers at that. Clarke and Wells may be the prince and princess on the Arc, but I'm the king down here.
