"I like this one baby, look it says it has a nice view of the beach."

Me and my girlfriend of 5 years sat in my parents living room trying to find the perfect place to put a deal on.

We currently have our eyes on this penthouse in downtown LA. It wasn't too much money and it was absolutely gorgeous.

"Yeah it's nice." She said halfheartedly. I sighed as I leaned back on the couch.

"You've said that about every place we looked at. What's the matter?"

"Nothing. I mean they are nice and I like them but it's hardly a place to start a family is it?"

"Well what did you have in mind?" I asked. She smiled as she grabbed the laptop and started typing away.

"Here look. It's a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house, spacious back and front yard plenty of room for kids to run around."

She showed me a beautiful suburban house and immediately I was in love.

"Well?" Billie asked.

"I love it. It's beautiful."

"So is this the one?"

"Yeah hurry and put a close on it before someone else does. Hurry!" I slapped her arm urging her to put a close on the house.

"Alright, alright! Relax mama!" She laughed. She clicked the button and sighed happily.

"We just bought a house." I whispered in slight shock

"Yep. And so our future begins."

I giggled as I practically jumped on her and kissed her happily.

"I love you."

"And I love you. Come on I wanna take you somewhere." She grabbed my hand and her keys as she led me out of the house.

We were about to take her car but I suggested we walk considering it was a beautiful day outside. Billie smiled as she complied, stuffing her keys into her pockets.

I thought nothing of it. Until we were half way to our destination when things took an awful turn for the absolute worst.

We were in the middle of the street crossing the ride and the moment we stepped foot into the sidewalk, the gunshots started.

First it was just one. Me and Billie both turning our heads in the distance of the sound. Then it was 2, then 3 then rapid fire as Billie urged me to run.

We rushed over to the side of the building in terror. Billie collapsed with me in her arms as she tried to keep me safe.

I yelled for her but she insisted she was alright before getting up and coming to sit beside me.
