Kasper's POV
I groaned at the blurring of my phone alarm in the morning, feeling absolutely no motivation to get out of bed. But as the phone's nagging tune continued, I knew it was only a matter of seconds before Friday would come marching in and demand me to get out of bed. Either he would constantly lick my face until I rose up, or he would jump on me and bounce up and down a few times. I have to admit, I owed a lot to that dog, but sometimes he really got on my nerves.
Muttering a few curses under my breath, I sat myself upright just as Friday came prancing in, his long, silky tail whooshing back and forth calmly behind him. He licked his long black chops and huffed out a bark.
"Oh cock-a-doodle-doo to you, too, you furry freak of nature!" I laughed. I slipped my long skinny legs out from under the covers and winced when my feet came in contact with the cold tile floor. Reaching into the pouch of Friday's bright red Service Dog vest, I pulled out a small dog treat and turned back to Friday. "Friday, medicine!" I commanded, and the lean dark-coloured German shepherd turned and left the room. While he was gone, I skipped over swiftly to my closet and pulled out the clothes I wanted to wear today.
Stripping down to just my bra and underwear, I slipped on my jeans and new shirt. Freshly washed only the day before, the fabric still had the strong smell of lavender.
By the time I had my shirt on all of the way, Friday had returned and was waiting patiently in the doorway for me to acknowledge him to enter. When I looked at him and signaled him over with a wave of my hand, he quickly trotted up and dropped my orange prescription bottle in my hand.
"Thank you, my good man. And here is a tip for you!" I smiled, handing Friday the dog treat I still had cupped securely in my hand. Friday accepted it politely and waited for his next command.
"Friday, heel." I told him as I walked down the hall and to the bathroom. Tail wagging, he followed close to me.
"Sit, stay." I added when we reached the doorway to the bathroom, and he sat down and stayed in that spot, watching me. I unscrewed the cap to my medicine bottle and took out two of the pills. Then, grabbing the water bottle I always kept full on the bathroom counter, I popped them both back at the same time and took a large swig.
A soft knock came from the door, making me jump. I looked over and smiled at who was standing there. "Hey, daddy. What's up?"
"Good morning, Kasper. You take your meds?" He smiled back.
Looking at the opened bottle on the counter, I nodded. "Yes, I did. Always remember to take two pills every morning and two pills every night. I've got the schedule in my head." I snickered and tapped my head with my finger.
Dad rubbed his scruffy light beard with his pointer finger and thumb. "Are you going out later or something? You don't usually get up this early on Saturday's because Heaven knows you never set your alarm on the weekend!"
I scoffed. "It's already nine thirty in the morning. Normal people are always up at this hour." Snatching out my hairbrush from the cabinet, I began preening and grooming my long wavy brunette hair. "Oh, and I forgot to tell you. Louis, Graham, and I are all headed out to the school to watch Elliot's Lacrosse game. Is that alright?"
A look of fear flooded over my father's face and he licked his lips nervously. "Why didn't you tell me yesterday instead of last minute?"
"I thought you would be alright with it." I sat the brush down on the counter and began digging through my makeup bag for my concealer. "You usually are."
He shook his head and sighed. For a moment, it was all silent, but then he spoke. "I don't want to have to tell you know when you already have it all planned, but I want you to tell me in advance next time, okay?"
