Friday's POV
I woke up, dazed and confused. No alarm clock buzzed, and I did not hear Kasper shuffling about. Where was she?
I looked up, and all I could see was white. When my vision came to, I could make out what seemed to be that vet's office Kasper would take me to to get my check up. I did not see that familiar doctor's face anywhere.
I stood up, but the gentle hand of a human came down on my back and pushed me back down. I looked up and licked my chops nervously. It was Graham.
My tail beat on the ground like a drum. I struggled to turn myself and lick him on the face, but my head hurt so much, that I couldn't hardly move.
Graham, I asked, Where is Kasper?
He did not respond. Stupid clueless humans, they never understand what I am saying. I whimpered, hoping that he would get the memo, but he just smiled sadly and rubbed me between my ears. I hated when he did that. Only Kasper can do that. But I wasn't one to complain.
I began forcing myself to my feet, but Graham wouldn't let me up. His strong arm was firmly locked on my back and I couldn't budge. I pawed him on the arm.
"I know, boy. I miss her, too. But we'll find her, I promise." Graham whispered in a silvery sing-song voice.
My heart dropped.
What do you mean we will find her? What happened to Kasper!?
A.N. I thought you guys would appreciate the interesting perspective in the book. I think seeing some things through the eyes of the dog would be unique and memorable. I hope you are enjoying!
