Chapter Fifteen: My Baby

"The family of Rayan Lopez?"

We all stood up, and as it normally is with these MB boys, there were a lot of us.

I walked to the front, along with Tay Tay and Jayla. "How is he? Where's my baby?!"

"Everything's fine, Ms. Lopez." The doctor calmed her down. "He just suffered from a concussion and a short coma."

"Oh, no." I said, as I fell weak. I sat down in the nearest chair, and the small group of the three of them crowded around me. "Not my baby..."

"Don't worry, m'am." The doctor spoke softly. But, how am I supposed to stay calm?? "Someone found him and brought him here. He's lucky to be alive."

"Can we see him?" I heard Jayla ask, but I'd already zoned out. I was already going to find my son.

Jayla

We all stepped into the room, and crowded around a happy Ray. He was all smiles, and looked perfectly fine. But knowing him, he's definitely the type to hide behind his smiles.

In the room was Me, Tay Tay, Aunt Keisha, Nikki... and the rest of MB.

That's right; Roc's old stupid a** is here.

"We're so glad they found you, man." Prince said.

"Yea," Prod laughed. "We were worried that almost all of our real dancers would be gone... Not naming names."

"Witcho ol' indirect ahh..." Roc said, and everyone in the room laughed. Except me.

Call me salty, but I just can't bring myself to even smile at anything he says. He simply disgusts me. Any other girl would've snapped on him by now, but I'm not the hothead type.

But, keep playing with me, n!gga. And Imma have to put the paws on you and your little stank a** crayon b!tch.

After a couple of hours, Aunt Keisha and Tay Tay left, and I was still here with Nikki and the guys.

Ray was talking it up, and was having fun. The show Ridiculousness came on the TV screen, and he got hype.

"Yaaas, gurrl!"Ray said in his ratchet girl voice, patting his weave and smacking his gum. "This my sh!t..."

Everyone laughed, then he said. "Nahh forreal tho. This my show. Can you pass me that remote... ermm?"

He said this to Nikki, who just playfully rolled her eyes and got it. "You play too much."

He nodded his head, but I don't think he knew what she was talking about.

I think he was serious.

"Ray," I said. "You're just joking, right?"

Ray looked a little confused. Oh, sh!t.

"Of course he was-(GCO)" Roc started mocking me, but I ignored his existence.

"You do know who that is, right?" I asked, worried. Everyone was paying attention, now. Waiting for the answer...

Nikki

The tension was so thick, you could cut it with a knife.

"Ermm... No. Should I?" He answered, looking at all of our faces.

I felt my heart sink. I knew he wasn't joking, he doesn't play with this type of stuff. I reached to the table next to me and pressed the button to call for the nurse.

When she came about 30 seconds later, and everyone looked at me, I sorta froze. Then, Jayla came to my rescue, and asked her to get a doctor. That's why she's my b!tch.

"So, what does that mean?" Prince asked.

"It means he won't remember objects of his life with the greatest emotion." The doctor responded. "Things that he loves, hates... stuff like that."

"Well, why does he remember me and his momma?" Jayla asked, curious.

"Maybe he doesn't love you," Roc mumbled. But, I think everyone peeped it. She just ignored it.

"It's different with family and old friends." The doctor said to her. Then, he turned to me. "In your case, I would just try to get him to remember, that's all you can do. Just don't pressure it."

"How long do you think it'll be until he remembers everything?" Prodigy asked.

The doctor sighed, then looked at me once again. "My advice to you is... don't get your hopes up."

But, I have to.

I can't move on: I'm tied to him for eighteen more years. He just doesn't know that yet.

No one does.
