Draco and Morgan sit at one of the large round tables that now adorned the great hall instead of the usual long house tables so that there would be room for a dance floor. Morgan looks around in awe at the decorations: ivy was climbing the walls, lanterns were floating through the air instead of the usual candles, the table cloths were all a pristine white, and there were beautiful flower arrangements at the center of each table that had a mixture of flowers representing each of the four houses, but, most importantly, there was Draco. His dark green suit made his pale skin, hair, and eyes pop and he looked irresistible. Morgan licks his lips without realizing he’s doing it before turning back to the door to wait for their friends to show up. Morgan stands up waving his hands when he sees Harry, Ron, the twins, Neville, and Blaise, who had become a fairly close friend of all of them. The Gryffindors and Slytherin walk over to take their seats all of them leaving room for a date to sit beside them… except Blaise and Neville. The Italian boy and the blushing Gryffindor look at them all Neville speaking up first “Surprise?” Everyone grins at them and congratulates the adorable couple chatting until music starts playing and the girls file into the hall lead by a smiling Professor McGonagall. Harry, Ron, and the twins all stand up to meet their dates. The twins disappear as soon as they find their dates but Harry and Ron come back with Carley and Hermione.  Harry smiles at Carley “You look beautiful Carley. You’re my little flower.” Morgan smirks wiggling his eyebrows at Carley making her blush even more than she already was from the comment. Hermione giggles before looking over at Neville and Blaise “You two finally stopped beating around the bush I see.” Blaise nods chuckling “I had to ask him three times before he finally gave me an answer.” Neville blushes “I get nervous Blaise…” Blaise smiles kissing Neville on the cheek “Come on. Let’s go dance before the floor gets too crowded.” The Slytherin hauls his Gryffindor boyfriend to his feet and walks toward the dance floor poor Neville having to jog to keep up with him. Morgan leans back in his chair sipping his butter beer “They’re a cute couple. It’s a shame they won’t last.” Hermione blinks “What do you mean they won’t last?” Morgan blinks a little confused “You mean you can’t see it?” Hermione frowns “See what?” Morgan blinks “Well they exhibit none of the usual markers of a relationship. Normally people that are in a relationship and on their first real date at something like the Yule Ball are excited and nervous but happy. Blaise isn’t happy. He’s proud of a conquest. Neville is nervous enough for the both of them. I give it a week.” Hermione frowns “I don’t see any of that. I think they’ll last.” Morgan grins “Want to put your money where your mouth is Mione?” Draco looks at Hermione “I wouldn’t if I were you. He’s hardly ever wrong.” Hermione frowns then looks at Morgan “I’m not really the betting type.” Ron grins “But I am. Three sickles they’ll stay together.” Morgan grins at Ron “And I bet three sickles that they’ll be over in a week.” Morgan and Ron shake hands and the group talks for a while until the slow songs start playing. Hermione stands up “Well Ron and I are off to the dance floor. See you all either back here or tomorrow.” Hermione pulls Ron with her and the red head waves as he’s pulled away “Bye guys!”

Morgan stands up after Hermione and Ron disappear into the crowd “Well I’m up for a walk. What about you Draco?” Draco stands up as well “I could go for a walk yeah.” Morgan and Draco wave goodbye to Carley and Harry before walking out onto the grounds of the castle, which have been beautifully decorated to match the theme of this year’s ball which is house unity, hand in hand. The pair end up sitting on a bench near the lake holding hands while Morgan rests his head on Draco’s shoulder. “Hey Draco?” Draco glances at Morgan out of the corner of his eye “Yes Morgan?” Morgan looks up at the taller boy and smiles “Thank you. For everything. Even when you were being a complete arse you were still cute and halfway nice to me.” Draco blushes “You’re welcome Morgan.” Several minutes later Snape is walking around the grounds making his rounds to find any students that are outside where they aren’t supposed to be and almost hexes Draco and Morgan when he finds them. As Draco and Morgan are scrambling to put their clothes back on the last they see of Snape that night is the professor stalking back toward the castle mumbling something about needing to pour acid on his eyeballs and brain. Morgan and Draco decide to quit while they’re ahead and head back to the Slytherin common room.

While that was going on outside Carley and Harry are inside the castle waltzing together, and doing Professor McGonagall proud. Harry spins Carley and dips her low as the last song of the night ends and helps her stand up straight again both of the breathing a little heavy from all the dancing. Carley smiles “Harry tonight was amazing. Thank you.” Harry hugs her as they walk back to the Gryffindor common room “No need to thank me Carley. You deserve things like this. You’ve been my best friend since we were little and now you’re the best girlfriend I could ever ask for.” Carley blushes and leans up a little kissing his cheek “I feel the same way about you. Except for his girlfriend part.” The two Gryffindors giggle tiredly all the way back to the common room, and apologize to the grumpy fat lady for disturbing her rest, before sharing a chaste kiss at the foot of the stairs that lead to the girl’s dorm. Harry kisses her forehead after they pull away “Goodnight Carley. I’ll see you in the morning.” Carley hugs Harry tight “Good night Harry” Harry hugs her back before they go their separate ways to their dorms until the next day.

(Sweeties I am so sorry I haven't updated this in two weeks {and even longer on some of my others}. My life has been completely insane and stressful lately and on top of all that I had writers block. I'll try to update more but I can't promise anything.)
