In October, all the conversations were about the Triwizard tournament. The two other schools were to arrive on Monday, and every student was excited.

"Who do you think the Hogwarts champion will be?" asked Willow.
"I don't know the seventh years that well, so I honestly don't know." I answered.
"Angelina said she would maybe want to compete. I hope she's chosen!"
"She's pretty strong. I guess she would make a good champion."

I woke up and rubbed my eyes.
"What's all the noise for?" I complained. Willow was nearly jumping of excitement.
"It's today Y/N! The other schools are arriving today!" she squealed excitedly.
"That's amazing Willow, but if you could stop yelling and let me rest that would be even more amazing." I grumbled.
"Oh sorry. But you're going to have to wake up in twenty minutes anyways, so why not get up know?"
I groaned and staggered out of bed.
"What are you both doing up so early?" asked a sleepy voice behind us.
I turned around to see Hermione sitting up in her bed.
"Ask Willow." I answered. "She's the one that woke me up by jumping up and down like a kangaroo."
Hermione hid her laugh behind a cough.
"Hey, I'm just excited!" protested Willow. "The other schools are coming today!" she continued, turning towards Hermione.
"Not until 6 o'clock, so we still have the whole day." replied Hermione.
"Whatever, let's just go eat breakfast, I'm starving!" I interrupted.

Time flew by, and finally, it was the evening. All the Gryffindors raced towards the Entrance Hall, chatting loudly. The other houses were hurrying too, everyone was more excited then ever. Everyone stood outside the doors, wondering how the other schools would arrive. We waited, shivering in the cold. After a few minutes, Ron started complaining. I ignored him and squinted my eyes, staring at the sky. A white flying thing was becoming bigger in the distance, coming towards Hogwarts.
"Shut up ginger head." I snapped. "Look up."

They all looked up, and let out excited gasps as an enormous white carriage pulled by four enormous pegasus arrived in view. It landed a few feet from us. We all stared at the door as a giant women opened it. She was twice the size of a normal woman. The only person as tall as her was Hagrid. She passed through the students towards Dumbledore.
"Madame Maxime." He said, kissing her hand without even bending over. "You should take your students inside, it's pretty cold here."
As he said that, approximately 15 students got out of the carriage. As he saw the girls, Ron stared in awe. Hermione and I laughed as he almost tripped over trying to get a closer look. They didn't seem to affect Harry though. As soon as the girls disappeared, Ron became normal again.
"They were Veelas!" he exclaimed.
"Then how do you explain Harry didn't start drooling? Maybe you're just thirsty." I replied.

He turned around, ignoring me. A movement in the lake caught our attention. An enormous boat had just appeared to its surface. These schools were so extravagant! The boat stopped at the edge of the lake, and a set of stairs fell down from the side of the boat. A man wrapped in grey furs walked down the stairs towards Dumbledore.
"Igor Karkaroff, welcome." greeted Dumbledore as they shook hands.
His students stepped out of the boat after him, and as Ron saw them, he gasped. He turned around towards us, and nearly yelled.
"It's Krum! Viktor Krum! The Quidditch player!"
Ron, and almost half of the students, were jumping and moving around to try and get a closer look at Krum.

When finally we got back inside. Dumbledore gave his usual welcome speech, and then we could finally eat. I didn't know some of the dishes, since they were French, but Hermione, who had gone to Paris over the summer, explained them to us. A few moments later, a Beauxbatons girl arrived to ask for the bouillabaisse. Ron, blushing, immediately handed it to her.
"Hey, I wanted that!" I protested when she was gone.
"Too bad" replied Ron.

When we were finally finished eating, Dumbledore rose from his seat.
"Now, what you must all be waiting for. Mr. Filch, the casket please."
Mr. Filch arrived with a big chest that he set before the table. Dumbledore opened it and took out a big cup, which he set on the box. It was a simple wooden cup, except for the blue white flames dancing in it.
"The Goblet of Fire." announced Dumbledore. "Champions wishing to compete will have twenty four hours to put their name in the Goblet. They must be over seventeen, and I will be drawing an Age line to ensure that. We will know the three champions tomorrow night."

As expected, everyone was speaking of the Goblet of Fire and how to get past the age line. I knew Dumbledore wasn't stupid enough to be fouled by dumb spells, so I didn't listen to the conversation and went straight to bed.
"I'm dying to know who the champions will be, not you?" asked Willow as we slipped in bed.
"Honestly, as long as it's entertaining and no one dies, I don't really care." I answered, yawning, before falling asleep.
