Juanita had to go to the nurse on the main campus, after that I don't know what happened to her. Karma tried to talk to me a couple times, but I just ignored him. When gym came around I asked to be partnered with Nagisa instead of Karma.
Nagisa turned out to be a kind of scary partner. It felt so natural and calming to have him there, then suddenly he was just on you.
After school ended Nagisa asked to come over, which I hesitantly accepted. Once we got past the treeline and were headed down the trail, I felt something on my shoulders. Suddenly my entire body was being pulled back into something solid. I turn around as Nagisa stops walking and freezes, looking terrified.
When I'm completely turned around I see Karma. His eyes are darkened and he looks angry. His nose is scrunched and his eyebrows are furrowed. I try to push him away, but one of his arms is holding onto one of mine, the other is around my back, to hold me in place. Instead of moving I look at the ground.
"What's the problem, (Y/N)?" His voice is deep and laced in anger. I stay quiet and he squeezes my arm.
"Ow, Karma, that hurts," I wince. His hand tightens as a sign he isn't happy with my response. "Leave me alone. I'll text you when I feel like talking."
"No," he snarled. "Stop ignoring me. Are you mad at me because of Juanita?"
"No. I'm mad at you because of you. You let her hold onto you like that. You let her touch all over you. You let her be disrespectful to me. You let me beat her up."
"You've beaten tons of people up before. I've beaten people up. You can handle yourself. I let her touch me like that because I was trying to make you mad."
"What the hell? What's wrong with you? So, you were fine with hurting me?"
"No, I didn't want to actually hurt you. I just realized that us fighting wouldn't be the same kind of distraction as you and Juanita. If you guys fought you wouldn't hold back. Koro Sensei would have had more to deal with than me and you."
"Karma. We would have been enough. We were enough. We were great."
"Then what's the problem?"
"Do you like her?"
"No."
"Then who do you like? Because if you really liked me you would never have let her touch you like that."
"(Y/N), stop," he pulled me into a hug. I tried to pull away but I couldn't. "Where are you guys going?"
I stayed quiet. Then I hear Nagisa stutter, I'm guessing Karma is death glaring at him.
"(Y/N)'s house," he blurts out.
"Good, I'm coming," he said, turning me around and wrapping his arm on my shoulders.
We walk for a little before I get the energy to push Karma's arm off of my shoulder. He just puts it back and holds me closer into his side. Nagisa is quietly walking behind us. We've been in the most awkward silence for a very long time now.
We get to my house and I take my keys out of my pocket. Karma reaches over and opens the door. Oh, right, I didn't lock it this morning, because Nico is here.
As we walk inside Karma finally takes his arm off of me. Nico walks in from the living room and glares at Nagisa and Karma.
"Nagisa, can I talk to you for a second?" I ask.
Karma and Nico both death glare at him. He grabs his arm and begins to rub it, looking at the floor. Why is he being so shy? I grab his arm and pull him into an office my parents have on the first floor. When I let go of him, he just looked at me confused.
