BILBO'S POV
The forest was...sick.
It reminded me of all the horrible things in this world. The dwarves didn't seem to like it either. All they did was grumble as we followed the path through the forest.
The only one who wasn't complaining, was Thalia. Of course. She skipped to the front of the line to the back of the line over and over in one big circle. She had a huge smile on her face, though I didn't why. There was nothing in Mirkwood worth smiling about.
I asked her anyway.
"Because," she answered as if this was obvious. "You guys are being so serious. And you should that at least one of us needs to the encouraging and FUN type in the company." She exaggerated the "fun" part. " So since none of you MEN will do it. I will." She giggled and kept smiling and prancing.
"Making choices." I said, and followed behind Bofur.
Then, we came to the problem. "We lost the trail." Nori proclaimed. Everyone freaked out and began searching for it. Thalia climbed in the trees to look farther but didn't have any luck. She climbed down and patted herself off.
"You know," she said, getting Thorin's attention. "We don't really need the path."
"What do you mean?" Thorin asked, confused. Thalia smiled at the idea she must've had. "All we do is go east."
"Good, but which way is east?" Dwalin mentioned.
"Easy, we just follow the sun...oh." she started, but stopped when she looked up and saw that the sun was covered by the darkening tree tops. Then, she looked at everyone and scratched the back of her head like she'd made a mistake. "Whoops, screw that up, didn't I?"
I looked up to the trees. The sun, huh? Without saying a word, I began climbing a tree to the very top.
THALIA'S POV
Something caught my ear.
Something faint, but definitely there.
"Shut up!" I shouted to the dwarves. They all got very quiet. Thorin and Kili came up next to me. "What is it?" they asked almost in unison. I looked at them with a concern look.
"We're being watched."
And as if on cue, I spotted a giant spider behind Thorin. I screamed his name and pointed. Thorin turned just in time to cut the large arachnid dead. But more came and surrounded us.
I grabbed my bow and shot one arrow through two spiders. The rest of the dwarves fought, too. I shot down every spider I came across. And then, I just had to run out of arrows.
"Damn it." I cursed. I was weaponless, unless I somehow got my arrows back, but that was impossible unless I ran straight into the group. More spiders began to gang up on me. I was trapped. "Thalia!" I heard one of the dwarves called, but they were too swarmed to come help me. I stared as the monstrous spider got closer, baring its fangs at me. I closed my eye, awaiting death.
But I heard the sweet sound of a flying arrow. I opened my eyes and looked up to see a tall blonde elf standing in front of me in a shooting pose. I sighed in relief. The elf didn't stop there, nor did his comrades, who appeared out of no where just as he did.
Soon, all the spiders were dead, and elves grouped the company and surrounded us. The blonde elf, who seemed to be the leader, spoke to Thorin, who I stood next to. The leader eyed me every once in awhile, as if I was suspicious-looking.
Suddenly, we began moving and were taken by the elves. That's when I noticed Bilbo was gone. And I freaked out.
"Wait! Where's Bilbo? Bilbo? Bilbo! BILBO!!!" I screamed, and tried to get away but the leader took hold of me and carried as I screamed Bilbo's name. "Where are you! BILBO!!!" Thorin and the others shouted at the elves, demanding the leader to release me. But I didn't care. Where was Bilbo? What's happened to him?
