Note ; I know that in sixth year Professor Slughorn is the potions professor, I just decided not to follow that part of the storyline and to have Snape be instead :)Willow started off the morning on the wrong side of the bed. Her small green alarm clock rang twenty minutes too late, her hair brush was nowhere to be found, and she had to change robes as she got toothpaste all over the first ones. Once she had finally made her way down to the dining hall, Hermione, Harry and Ron's plates were already clean. Willow opted to just skip breakfast, and left to get her books.
After an excruciatingly long History of Magic lesson and many failed attempts at turning vinegar to wine in charms class, Willow made her way to potions. She spotted Pansy and Blaise on their way there, and internally groaned at the fact that they had so many classes together. Pansy threw her a dirty look. They hadn't talked since Willow broke up with Draco over a month ago.
Once Willow arrived at potions, she went to set her books down at a cauldron next to Ron and Hermione, Harry just a few away. They'd grown quite close since Christmas break. Willow would sit with them for all meals, besides important ones where she was required to sit with her house and needed to get a seat next to a random Slytherin that she never talked to. They hung out when classes dismissed and had plenty of fun together. Unfortunately, things hadn't moved forward with Ron besides some playful flirting, and Willow was starting to think that maybe Hermione was wrong and Ron did only want to be friends.
Ron and Hermione said a quick hello, and everyone brought their attention ton Professor Snape as he started to speak.
"Today you are going to be making Amortentia. Amortentia is a love potion. It is one of the most powerful potions in existence. It can be incredibly dangerous, as it is dangerous to underestimate a powerful infatuation. Despite its power, Amortentia does not create actual love, as it is impossible to manufacture or imitate love. The person under the effect of the potion would only hold an obsession for the person who administered it," Professor Snape stated. "Now, none of you will be drinking or keeping this potion, only perfecting it. The interesting thing about Amortentia is that the potion has a different aroma for everyone who smells it, reminding each person of the things that they find most attractive," he continued, then ordered everyone to find page 56 in their books and start gathering ingredients. Willow got to work.
After lots of chopping, squeezing, pouring and stirring, Willow ended up with a pinkish pearl coloured potion. Glancing over at the other students, she noticed that everyone else had finished too and had similar looking potions in their cauldrons.
Everyone had started discussing the scents of their potions, so Willow decided to have a go at hers. She breathed in the aroma of the pink potion. The woody scent of a broomstick handle, Butterbeer and orange blossom.
"What's yours smell like?" Hermione asked.
"Broomsticks, Butterbeer and orange blossom. Strange combination if you ask me," Willow replied, but it really wasn't that strange. Willow knew exactly who those scents reminded her of.
Before Hermione could speak again, Ron came over.
"Orange blossom, Butterbeer and broomstick? Really, Willow?" Willow was surprised by the disappointed look on his face.
"What do you mean?" She asked, confusion coating her features.
"Whatever," he said, picking his books up and leaving class as Snape had just dismissed them.
"Ron," Willow said, desperation in her voice. Why was Ron angry? What had she done wrong?
She quickly gathered her own books and rushed out of the classroom, following Ron. Hermione stayed behind, thinking they needed to have a private conversation. Plus, she needed to see what Professor Snape thought of her potion.
