Chapter 3 A Fox's Atonement

Minako’s House
Present Day. 

Katsumi sat on the  lavender floor,  she was horrified by what she saw.  Tears fell from her eyes and she sat there crying, Minako swiftly sat down and Artemis looked at her In confusion. 

“What's wrong Katsumi chan?” Minako asked as she gave Katsumi a tight hug.

“I'm a monster… An evil being reincarnated…” Katsumi replied as she cried in Minako’s arms,  she was clearly showing remorse for what she did in her past life.

“Katsumi chan… You’re not a monster, a monster wouldn't regret what they did.  Queen Serenity believed you deserve a second chance,  and as a senshi myself.  I will help you to rehabilitate, along with the others. “ Minako replied as she softly wiped away Katsumi’s tears with her hands. “Artemis,  what do you think?”” Minako asked as she looked over to Artemis, he sighed and walked over to the pair of them. 

“She has shown she regrets what she did in her previous life, but I do not trust her. I'd say keep her on as your apprentice  in training. " Artemis replied, he then walked over to Kyubi's duffel bag. "I have an idea, Katsumi could you take out your Sailor V costume for me?" Artemis asked as he pointed towards the duffle bag, Katsumi pulled out her beautiful replica of Sailor V's costume and Artemis leapt over it. The clothes began to transform and glow as it became a crimson red compact with a silky bow on it.

"Is this… My own compact?" Katsumi asked in shock, she then examined it closely. It was  a crimson red compact with a ribbon on it.

"It is. You are about to begin  your journey to redemption, now say Vixen Planet make-up." Artemis replied as he smiled a bit, Katsumi sighs as she got herself ready before uttering those life changing words as she took out her compact.

"Vixen Planet! Make up!" Katsumi exclaimed, her clothes began to change, her coat and bustier became a snow white sailor fuku with a crimson red skirt, neck scarf, shoulder pads and strapped heeled shoes with ribbons on them. The ribbon on her chest had a pearl white heart, her choker was the same colour with a red heart. Lastly, she had a bright red mask similar to Sailor V's in design. 

"Wow! Your fuku looks amazing! I'm actually a little jealous!"Minako exclaimed in wonder, Katsumi was awestruck by her fuku as she looked in the mirror. 

"You are Sailor Vixen, apprentice to the pretty guardian Sailor V. We have work to do, so…" Artemis said gracefully before Katsumi picked him up and hugged him tightly.

"THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!"

Katsumi exclaimed, she was moved to tears and Artemis was struggling to breathe. 

"Hug...ing.. a little too tightly.." Artemis said as he struggled to breathe, Katsumi immediately put him on the bed and then got upset. 

"I'm sorry Mr Artemis, I didn't mean to hurt you…" Katsumi said as she began to cry, Artemis sighed deeply.  From what he can tell, Katsumi definitely has terrible  emotional control.

"Katsumi chan, it's fine. It was an accident, I take it you aren't  too familiar with cats?" Minako asked as she grabbed some tissues, Katsumi took off her mask and wiped her misty eyes.

"I… I rarely see them in the village, I really like them. Especially Mr Artemis, he's fluffy, cute and kind." Katsumi said as she petted Artemis's fleecy ears, Artemis gently purred as he got petted. 

BLEEP! BLEEP!

A loud beeping sound came from Minako’s communicator, Minako grabbed it and pressed a button. Sailor Jupiter appeared on the small screen with an urgent message and a worried expression.

"There's a new monster attacking in Kitsune Point  Park! Get here quickly as it just grabbed a kid!" Sailor Jupiter  exclaimed as she talked through the communicator,  Minako quickly got up and pulled out her transformation pen.

"I'll get my motorcycle ready!" Katsumi exclaimed, she was ready for her first day as Sailor Vixen. She went outside and hoped on her bike, popping in the key and the engine roared to life, like an enraged bull. Sailor Venus leaped  over the wall with grace and finesse, then stylishly landed on Sailor Vixen's  sport bike. Vixen drove off towards the park at high speed, weaving around the cars like a needle and thread. 

"Ack! This is very scary! Can you please slow down!?" Sailor Venus exclaimed as she tightly held onto Sailor Vixen's torso, Vixen had to focus on the road as the wind billowed though her fur and whistled in her ears.

"It's an emergency! We should get there asap Sailor V!" Vixen yelled as she narrowly dodged a semi truck, Venus screamed in terror as she saw a semi truck nearly hit them.  

"WATCH WHERE YOUR DRIVING !@#$HOLE!" 

Vixen bellowed, letting out some road rage on the truck driver. Venus was just speechless,she saw her life flash before her eyes. From when she was a little girl singing pop songs from the tv, to her misadventures from Sailor V.

"Earth to Venus! We are here at the park! Now we gotta move!" Vixen shouted, Venus fell off the sports bike as she fainted. Landing on the ground with a loud thud, Vixen then began to freak out."Oh no! V! Are you alright!?" Vixen exclaimed as she began to panic, she then saw a red skinned demon burning down the park with fire breath. Ashes scattered into the air, the smell of burning wood, it was enough to give Vixen a panic attack. Sailor Mercury quickly arrived as she could hear Vixen having a panic attack, she  gasped in suspense as she saw Venus laying on the floor.

"Are you alright!? Sailor Venus! What happened to her!?" Mercury yelled, Vixen was unable to respond due to her current state. "If you can hear me, I need you to calm down." She continued as she approached Venus, Vixen had trouble trying to talk due to her panicking. 

"V.,Venus Co… Collapsed!" Vixen bellowed as she was unable to control herself, she felt like someone was choking her as she couldn't breathe.

"Alright listen to me carefully, I need you to get to safety along with Venus. Can you do that for me?" Mercury asked as she calmed down a bit, Vixen gently nodded."Good, I'll go with you and treat both of you." Mercury said as she helped Vixen to her feet, and then Vixen lifted Venus off of the dirt floor.  

They were outside the park and Vixen sat against the stone wall as she was still panicking and freaking out, Mercury was about to check on Venus, but she got up with a tired groan.

"Ugh… How long was I out for…?" Venus asked as she came to, she then saw Vixen struggling to breathe and being extremely aggravated. "Are you ok Sailor Vixen?!" Venus exclaimed as she came over to Vixen, she was obviously scared.

"Venus!  I'll look after her! You go help out Mars!" Sailor Mercury exclaimed as she carefully walked over to Vixen, Venus nodded and ran off to help Sailor Mars.

"Fire…" Vixen said as she gasped, she was struggling to breathe as she quivered in fear. She was reliving that fateful day, the one changed her entire life. 

"I get it, you're afraid of fire aren't you? Mars is going to put them out by depriving them of oxygen. You don't need to know how." Mercury said as she hugged Vixen closely, doing her best to comfort her. "We can handle fires, you don't have to worry. You are safe." Mercury said as she carefully put her hand on Vixen's shoulder, Vixen finally calmed down and took some deep breaths.

"Th.. Thank you…" Vixen said as she  heaved a  heavy sigh of relief, she began to remember a terrible memory… One that scared her as much as the day her life changed forever.
