Bobbi walked down the shiny hallways to the front office. The halls were filled with state-of-the-art TV screens, lockers, vending machines and water fountains. It was also very nicely decorated, with posters and murals on the walls. There was even a trophy case, which seemed to be slam full.
'There must be a lot of talented people at this school,' Bobbi thought to herself.
When she finally arrived at the front office, Bobbi slid inside and walked up to the front desk.
A lady with dark brown hair in a bun and blue eyes was sitting there, typing on a computer. Bobbi just stood there for a minute, not knowing how to get the woman's attention without disrupting her work. The lady then seemed to notice Bobbi was there and she immediately turned to her.
"Hello, there. Can I help you?" She asked, a warm smile plastered on her face.
"Um," Bobbi began, still a little nervous about being at this new school, "I'm Bobbi Morse and I'm new here."
Recognition flashed across the woman's eyes as she turned back to her computer and pulled up a file.
"That's right. You're the transfer student from San Diego," She then turned back to Bobbi and held out her hand, "I'm Miss Hill, the school's secretary, and welcome to SHIELD Academy.
"Thank you, it's nice to meet you," Bobbi said politely while shaking her hand.
Miss Hill smiled as she stood up and led Bobbi to a room towards the back of the office.
"This is Principal Fury's office, he wishes to speak to you real quick," She said as she ushered Bobbi into the room, leaving her bags outside.
Bobbi sat down in the polished, nicely furnished room and looked at the man in front of her. He was African-American and dressed in an all black buisness suit. One of his dark eyes were covered by an eyepatch, which Bobbi found interesting.
"Welcome, Miss Morse, to our school," He said, "I am Principal Fury and I would like address a few things with you before you start your first day tomorrow."
"Thank you," Bobbi said, politely while nodding her head, signaling for him to continue.
"Here at SHIELD Academy, we are very serious about our curriculum and want nothing but success for every student. While some students are slackers, others are very proactive and do well in their studies. From what I've read on you, I believe you are very well-rounded and disciplined," Principal Fury said.
"Thank you, sir," Bobbi replied, a proud smile on her face.
"I hope you do well in your classes and have a nice time here at the academy," Principal Fury continued, "If you need anything, feel free to come to me, Vice Principal Coulson, Miss Hill, or your student guide."
"Student guide?" Bobbi questioned, her head tilted to the side in confusion. She didn't remember getting one of those.
"Yes," The principal said, "We assigned you a student guide to show you around the school and escort you to your dorm. If only he'd get here on time."
At that moment, a boy walked into the room.
"Sorry I'm late, Principal Fury," He said, "I had to held Steve unpack."
"Take a seat, Barton," Fury said with an unimpressed look on his face.
The boy sat down in the seat next to Bobbi and she couldn't help but stare. He looked around her age and very handsome, with sandy blonde hair and bright blue eyes.
'Snap out of it, Bobbi,' She thought to herself, 'You don't want to look creepy.'
She immediately turned her attention back to Principal Fury.
"Bobbi, this is Clint Barton, your student guide," He said, gesturing towards Clint. He then turned towards the boy. "Clint, this is Bobbi Morse, a new student," He said, gesturing towards Bobbi this time.
"Sup," Clint said, leaning back in his chair.
"Hi," Bobbi replied, folding her hands in her lap.
An awkward silence then filled the room for the next few moments. Principal Fury finally broke it by sending them on their way. Clint helped Bobbi carry her luggage and grabbed two of her bags.
When they stepped back into the main office, Miss Hill handed Bobbi a piece of paper and a student ID card.
"This is your student ID, locker assignment, dorm assignment and class schedule. A map is also on the back of the sheet, if you need it," She informed.
"Thanks," Bobbi said with a smile as she followed Clint into the hallway.
The blonde-haired boy then proceeded to show her all around the school. He showed her the cafeteria, gymnasium, several classrooms and where some bathrooms were. After they passed the Auditorium, Clint started a conversation.
"So, where you from?" He asked as he turned to look at Bobbi.
"San Diego," She answered. Bobbi couldn't help but notice how muscular and fit he was. She had to try really hard to keep from blushing.
"West Coast, huh? Wow, you must be freezing here," Clint said.
"Yeah," Bobbi replied with a shiver. She had on brown combat boots, dark blue skinny jeans, a navy blue sweater with a black north face over top of it and she was STILL cold. Stupid New York weather.
Clint chuckled.
"You'll get used to it. The East Coast isn't all that bad," He reassured.
"I-If you s-say so," Bobbi said, catching a chill.
Clint smirked as he stepped closer to her.
"I bet I can warm you up," He taunted, wrapping an arm around her.
"S-Shut up," Bobbi shot back, elbowing him in the ribs as her face turned a crimson red.
"Ow, jeez. I was just kidding," Clint said, rubbing his ribs in pain, "You're stronger than you look."
"Growing up with four brothers does that to you," Bobbi replied, finally getting warm again.
"I can tell," Clint said as he turned back to her, "So, what year are you?"
"Sophomore," Bobbi informed.
"Same here," Clint said. He stopped for a minute and walked up to a locker. "This is your locker, by the way."
Bobbi looked to her sheet to find he was correct. Her mind then wandered back to the fact he said he was a Sophomore, too. For some weird reason, she was really happy they may have classes together. She just decided to shake to thought off and continued to follow Clint.
After passing a few more classrooms and walking up a set of stairs, Bobbi noticed Clint was scanning her up and down, a slight smirk on his face.
"A-Are you checking me out?" She asked in surprise, stopping in her tracks.
Clint's cheeks turned pink as he stopped what he was doing and looked Bobbi in the eyes
"Um, maybe," He replied.
Bobbi rolled her eyes in annoyance and continued to walk down the hallway. Stupid hormones. But still, there was one part of her that was kind of excited he had checked her out. Bobbi just shook the thought off.
The end of the tour came when they stopped outside a dorm room.
"Well, this is your dorm," He said, "Just scan your ID card on the padlock under the handle and it'll unlock your room."
"Wow," Bobbi replied, fascinated at the electronic locking system. She then turned back to him. "Thanks for showing me around."
"No problem," Clint said, a smile on his face, "See you around, Bobbi."
He then began to walk away as Bobbi stared after him.
"Yeah," She said quietly to herself, "See you around."
