WC: 329I'm riding my bike in the woods. Everything looks to be nice and normal, until I discover this strange path. So I decide to follow it. As soon as I start riding down the path, everything seems off. I realize that no birds are chirping and no planes are flying by. It seems a little too quiet. Suddenly, I hear some branches snapping. I flinch at the sound. I begin to turn my head to look around the area. I don't see anything, and I don't hear any further noises either.
I swear I heard something. Of course, it just could have been some animal or it could've even been someone out for a walk. Out for a walk in these woods? Nobody normally comes out here though. I hesitate, but continue riding down the path. Eventually, I reach the end of it and find myself in front of an old shack. It looks like no one lives here, because it appears to be falling apart. I rise up on my feet, and get off my bike.
I walk up to its front door, and without thinking, I knock. With the slightest touch of my fist, the door opens slightly. I push it open the rest of the way and walk in.
"Hello?" I call out, my voice echoing through the shack.
I noticed before I came in that the shack is covered with broken windows. I notice now that there are lots of cracks and holes in the walls.
"Hello?" I say again, but there isn't a reply.
I decide to look around on the floor. I discover that there is a few things piled up on top of a framed picture. In the process of taking the stuff off the picture, I notice that it's a picture of a woman. She looks around the same age as me, but with dark hair and pretty hazel eyes.
"Mary?" I hear a male voice say.
I flinch.
