"Mary?" I hear a male voice say.

I flinch.

I look up to see a man, maybe in his early twenties.

"Who's Mary?" I ask, taking a few steps back.

"You've come home! Mary, I knew you would come back!" He shouts happily.

"Um, my name is Jessie. I don't know anyone by the name of Mary." I say.

"Mary, stop joking around." He says.

Wait, was Mary the girl in the photo? But she looks nothing like me. I have long red hair and green eyes. Why would he think I'm her?

"What's your name?" I ask him, cautiously.

"What do you mean? You know that I'm Jack." He says, confused.

"Can you tell me who Mary is?" I ask, trying my best to ask politely.

"You're Mary." He says, looking around the room.

I sigh.

"Can you describe me?" I say, raising my eyebrows high.

"Um, okay? You're a beautiful girl with long brown hair and hazel eyes. You're name is Mary Folkman, and your 19 years old." He says, smiling.

Just by the way he said that, I can tell he fancies her. But most importantly, why does he think I'm her? He's not blind, is he color blind? It's a possibility. Jack seems like a nice man, with blue eyes and brown hair swept over to the side. Then it comes to me. I had heard him say "Mary I knew you would come back" Is she...dead?

What happened to her? Kidnapping? Murder? Or was it a health problem? A heart attack? Maybe even a car crash. So many questions, yet no answers. How will I even get an answer? It's not like he'll tell me, because he thinks I'm her! And if she's dead, he clearly doesn't realize it. Or maybe she isn't dead.

Maybe he was just waiting for her for a long time, and she hasn't come back yet. I will probably never find out what happened to Mary Folkman. Unless I get the answer from someone else, which is unlikely.
