How did I go from looking into Cassie's eyes to sitting at a large table with both of my parents? Thankfully, it was nothing shorter than a daze. I was a little faded which made time passing by much easier, but it didn't help with my memory; as I barely remembered the words Cassie uttered to me, yet I couldn't get her out of my mind, no matter what, she was still there.

I couldn't fathom; my parents were merely in love once again, and god, was it weird to witness them showing public display of affection, perhaps, I still haven't digested the fact my father was not only back in my mother's life, but mine too. It was a ray of mixed emotions, my anger running on empty, yet there was still a steady guard that I held so highly, I didn't want to accept my father with open arms so easily, I knew things needed time.

My heart skipped a beat out of fear once my phone had vibrated, I peaked, finding Donny's face on my screen, but I declined the call, it would simply be rude to answer him whilst I was out, yet I was not even bothering to participate. I was simply nothing more than a third wheel.

I rolled my eyes as I watched my father spoon feed my mother a sample of his dish, whilst my mother did the same. Sure, it was sweet, but I had never felt more single than in that moment.

I leaned back on my chair, getting lost in my head, but it didn't take long before my phone vibrated once again. I didn't bother checking the contact, already knowing it was Donny calling, so I carelessly picked up my phone, and went off on him with a whisper of a tone.

My heart almost dropped to the pit of my stomach once I heard that angelic laugh towards the end of the line. My eyebrows furrowed in lost confusion, before I peaked at the contact list only to find out it was Gal who called me.

I looked at my parents, but they thankfully didn't seem to notice I had my phone on my ear whilst they were too busy enjoying each other's company, which made me ease down and relax as I spoke to Gal on the phone.

"Why aren't you eating?"

Gal's tone was gentle, slightly concerning, yet filled with love, the love that I had desperately been chasing after for so long.

"Uhh and how would you know that I'm not eating?"

"Look around, it won't take long for you to find me, honey."

My heart rate began to increase as I eagerly looked around those dozens of different faces that were surrounding me as they were having dinner, only to find Gal towards the end in a corner where she was on her own, a small toothless smile on spread across her face whilst we made eye contact for a few seconds.

"Why the fuck did you follow me?" I tried to lower my voice as I asked that million dollar question as I kept my eyes on hers, I watched as she laughed from a distance before hanging up the phone which caused me to curse under neath my breath.

All it took was a moment before I had received a message from Gal that gave me nothing more than mixed feelings about her and the situation we were in.

"I didn't follow you, I located you because I tracked you down through your phone. You and I didn't still aren't done talking."

I placed my phone to the side, but felt my mouth start to dry up as I watched Gal get up from her seat and start walking towards my direction. Never did I want to escape a family outing more than I do right in this moment. I was trying to plead with Gal as I motioned for her to turn around and go away, but Gal wasn't a woman whom listened very often, she liked to take and stay in control, and her stubbornness clearly wasn't going away any time soon.

"Laura? Hello. I could have sworn I saw you as I walked into this restaurant, I hope you don't mind me disturbing your dinner, I simply wanted to send my greetings."
