Chapter 14

You huddle everyone on the car. You snatch Nick's dog's collar off the island and make sure he has it with him. You all walk to the beach and near the water. The orange and yellow sky was beautiful. Nick look out into the sunset. Tears fill his eyes once more.

Nick drops to his knees and you hold Clay and George back from comforting him. You knew he needed this time. Nick sobs on his knees for a few minutes. He punches the ground out of anger. "WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GO!" he screams. It makes you and the others tear up. "AFTER ALL THESE YEARS AND YOU LEAVE!" he yells letting all his emotions out. "YOU LEAVE AND I NEVER GOT TO SAY GOODBYE! STUPID! STUPID! STUPID" he screams.

You were crying. Clay and George teary eyed. Nick stands up, clutching the collar tightly in his hand. You need to let go Nick. You thought. You hear him cry as he raises his hand, looking out to the sunsetting behind the ocean. he throws his arm forward and releases the collar making it land far out in the water before he breaks down in tears. "I MISS YOU CASH! I MISS YOU!" he screams. He wipes his tears with his sandy hands. He turns around and walks towards you. He gives you a big hug and you hug him back. "Thank you..." you hear him mutter.

"Of course Nick," you say. You feel Clay wrap his arms around you both, then George do the same. You all stand there for a minute, holding each other tight.

Walking back to the house, you tell them all to get in the car. They questionably agree and you get in the drivers seat. You start to drive more into town, past some shops until you pull up on a small store. It was a sweets store. You take out 3 $20 bills and hand one to each of the boys. "Go use as much money I have given you on whatever you please," you say. The three of them happily jump out of the car and print inside.

You wait patiently in the car for about 20 minutes until you see the three come out with bags of sweets and drinks. When they get in the car, you hear them going through the bags. "No sweets now," you say. They all whine on the way home but listen to you.

When you get home, you have them change into something comfortable while their candies were in the kitchen, telling them to go to the sitting room when they finish. They all do and you also change into something comfy consisting of Clay's hoodie and sweatpants. When you get downstairs, you take all the candies out of their bag and grab bowls. You microwave popcorn and put candies in their separate bowls. You look up and see the boys leaning on the back of the couch watching you. "No, no. Turn around and choose a movie," you say. They all sigh and turn around.

When you separate the candies, you pour the popcorn in a bowl and add butter. You grab some wine from the wine cupboard and soda for Nick. You take some glasses and pour the drinks for you and the boys. 

When you finish, you bring all the bowls of candy out in multiple trips, smacking away the hands of the boys.

"Wine? Really?" Clay asks. "You aren't even old enough to drink Y/n."

"I have a month, we good," you say. Clay rolls his eyes as you sit down. The boys chose We Are The Millers which was a movie you loved and started to play it. "Alright, dig in boys," you say. They all grab the sweets they want as you take a sip of your wine. You didn't want too much so you had maybe a sip or two worth so if wouldn't effect the baby.

You all watch the movie, laughing and enjoying yourself. Clay gives you a hug. "Thank you," he whispers in your ear. You look at him and smile leaning into his shoulder.

You take a final sip of your wine and let out a large sigh. It has been a long day but you were glad it was over.

You give a big stretch before standing up. The boys were passed out on the floor. You step over their limp bodies and clean the cups. When you finished, you took the bowls to the kitchen, placing them on the island. when you finish cleaning, you walk up the stairs and into your bedroom where you lay. The bed felt so much better than the couch. You cover up and slowly fall asleep.
