Chapter 33: Apex Predator

Mazikeen's POV:
Finally it was time for Christmas break and we were on the train. I sat with Harry and Ron since I had some things to discuss with Harry. They were talking about an unbreakable vow for some reason. I wasn't paying attention like always. "An unbreakable vow? Are you sure that's what Snape said?" Ron asked and Harry nodded. "Positive. Why?" Ron sighed. "It's just, you can't break an unbreakable vow." I laughed. "Yeah Ron I'm pretty sure we can tell." As we kept talking Ron stopped mid sentence. "Oh bloody hell." I looked at the door and there was Lavender. She made the glass foggy and made a heart. She wrote R+L. I whispered to Harry. "If Viktor did that I swear I would find Voldemort and let him kill me." Hermione walked past the door and saw it then just kept walking. Harry sighed "So what happens when you break an unbreakable vow?" Ron looked at us "You die."

Me, Remus, Harry, Tonks and Arthur were in the living room talking. "So Voldemort has chosen Draco Malfoy for a mission?" Harry nodded. "I know it sounds mad." Remus sighed "Has it occurred to you Harry that Snape was simply pretending to offer Draco help so he could find out what he was up to?" Harry sighed. "Not from what I heard." Tonks nodded. "Maybe Harry is right Remus. I mean to make an unbreakable vow-" Remus cut her off. "It comes down to whether or not you trust Dumbledore's judgement." I sighed. "I do trust Dumbledore but we can't count on him 24/7. I feel like he's not telling us something." Arthur looked at me. "Why's that?" I looked down. "So I may or may not have seen some letters on his desk-" Remus looked at me. "Mazikeen you can't be snooping." I looked at him. "I wasn't done. They were from Lucifer. Now what was Lucifer telling him you may be wondering. He was talking about an unbreakable vow that he and Cain made with someone in 1989 which was the year I started Hogwarts. Now I want to know why they made that vow and why Dumbledore didn't say anything." Tonks sighed "Maybe it wasn't about you?" I shook my head "I'm getting to that. Now is it a coincidence that when Lucifer and Francis were fighting in 1992 before Lucifer left Lucifer said and I quote 'Soon they will come after us and I will be damned if you take Mazikeen with you! She's our only hope to get out of this mess!' Now it's strange that he said that because I found my prophesy at the ministry."  Remus looked at me. "You found a prophesy at the ministry with your name on it and didn't tell us?" I sighed. "I didn't say anything because I didn't understand. It said 'Once the star and the moon align she will show the path to justice and truth. She will then show the way to the lightning and help bring justice and truth once and for all.' Now-" I held up my hands. "Star and moon scar." I then pointed at Harry. "Lightning bolt. Now it may be a reach but what if this is saying that I might have to help Harry when the time comes to take down Voldemort." Remus shook his head. "That's nonsense." I looked at him. "Well I'd like you to come up with something better."

Soon it was time for Remus and Tonks to leave. I hugged Remus and sighed. "Please be careful. And tell my father that I'll be coming to visit soon." He nodded and started staring outside from the front door. Tonks was thanking Molly "We really should be going." She then whispered. "The first night of the cycle is the worst." Arthur looked at Remus. "Remus?" He kept looking out into the field. "Sweetheart?" Tonks looked at him. I put my hand on his shoulder. "Uncle Remus are you ok?" Soon fire appeared and formed a ring around the burrow. Then Bellatrix Lestrange appeared. She smiled and ran through a parted patch in the ring of fire. I ran after her and heard people yelling after me. "Mazikeen! Harry no!" Then I heard Tonks. "Remus!"

While I was running all I could hear was Bellatrix chanting. "I killed Lucifer Morningstar! I killed Lucifer Morningstar! You coming to get me?! You coming to get me Mazikeen?!" I kept running until I stopped somewhere in the field. I started running again until I heard someone moving. I remember hearing Remus call Harry's name too. "Harry?" I turned around to see some hairy guy. "Damn that's one hairy bitch." So haha he didn't like that I said that. He went to attack but Harry and Ginny ran up behind me. "Stupefy!" He then disappeared. "Mazikeen are you mad! Why did you say that to him?" I shrugged "Because he's one hairy bitch Harry. I say what I see ok?" Harry sighed. "I swear-" Then spells just started coming out of nowhere and we started blocking them. We heard Arthur calling Ginnys name and then Remus and Tonks finding us. We kept looking around until we saw Bellatrix and that other dude leave. We started running back to the burrow which was pretty much burning down. I watched as everyone started running back but I stayed in the field. I don't think anyone noticed until later.
