Chapter 17 - 10 minutes of joy

Tana

'Trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrinnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg' echoed the shrill sound of my alarm clock right beside me.

'Oh cmon it cannot be morning already' i cursed beneath my breath.

"Tana get up you wouldn't wanna be late do you?" Shouted mom from downstairs.

"Yeah whatever" i muttered back.

Getting up from the bed i opened the curtains of my bedroom and i was completely aloof by the sight. Sunlight creaked through the mountainside washing the valley in a golden spotlight. Birds chirping on the nearby trees in a morning melody and a cool steady breeze making the leaves rustle, it was like

a dream. The sight of nature in its one of the most beautiful forms completely made me forget about yesterday. With a sudden burst of energy i was onto my chores in a flash.

Completing all my work in no time i was ready to leave when mom stopped me.

"Tana would you please take the bus today? I need to buy some things so I'll need the car."

Since today was one of those days when i was as i would say in the nature's way a flourishing mood i agreed to take the bus.

The bus stop was not really far away it was a mere 10 minute walk from the house so it wasn't really a big deal.

And the ever so morale boosting nature made it only more pleasurable to walk.

I quickly bid mom goodbye and set afoot. The countryside with its never exhausting scenarios was as flabbergasting as ever. Our neighborhood was a quiet one as the nearest house was a couple of blocks away. There the lady was busy drying clothes as her husband was laying stacks of hay in the barn.

It all felt like i was the young BILBO BAGGINS set on his adventure.

The journey to the bus stop was quite an amusing one with alot of unusual sights that i wasn't used to seeing in the city.

I was kind of thinking to take a bus everyday. Who would wanna miss such a beautiful walk.

As they all say watch what you wish for. Tana has absolutely no idea that her wonderful walk is soon about to turn into a walk of terror where mere 10 minutes would seem like an hour and would soon turn out to be a pretty big deal......
