Chapter 12 - A familiar face
Tana
"Who are you?" I inquired again.
Then came a hoarse voice, this voice was different from the one earlier. But i was pretty sure it was the same person. The voice in its rough tone said, " I am Batman".
Saying that the person turned towards me and i couldn't believe my eyes. In fact my eyes just kind of popped out at the sight in front of me. The person standing before me was no other than Zee.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" I hurled at him clearly taken aback and now i was angry. My face was red out of anger exasperation and desperation. I needed answers and i needed them right now.
"Dear God, you people are so empty. It must be so nice and relaxing to have nothing there in your head." He replied in his uncanny sense.
"Zee trust me I am not in a mood for your nonsense, what are you doing here and how the hell do you know about me so much?"
"It was obvious."
I could tell from his body language that he was thoroughly enjoying this. And now he possessed a face that i had such a strong desire of punching. With emotions rage and anger getting the better of me i rushed towards him and pinned him to the wall.
"Now you tell me or i whip that whimsical grin of your face."
"Okay okay let go." He replied with his voice turning from Bruce Wayne to Mickey Mouse.
"The supermarket in the town is the only place where you get all your things in a single place. So naturally this being a small town everyone knows each other. My mom went to supermarket today where i assume she met yours. Then follows introductions and blah blah blah all that boring stuff of socializing which has no real definition in one's life to be honest."
"Get to the point." I ordered clearly restless
"You are here with your mom, but no dad which means daddy is missing in the picture or else he would have come here instead of you. Now you here are wearing are wearing something that looks like a brand new dress. Silky black looks real good with your hair curled up neatly in short you are up to date but then again your shoes. They are kind of worn out and look nothing like the other accessories you have dawned. So you are still wearing the old shoes suggests it was a gift from someone. Someone very close to you, someone you love and care about, someone you miss more than anything else. If it was any other relatives gift then you wouldn't have shifted from new York to Nashville. That leaves with boyfriend then i would say go and have nice look at the mirror. Which leaves me to your dad, since you still miss him so much obviously he hasn't left you high and dry or cheated but has ceased to exist."
Slowly i felt my grip on him loosening as memories flooded my mind. My brain my body felt numb. I just wanted to slump down somewhere away from everyone and everything. I just wanted to hide in the shadows hide in my misery. Then i thought my dad wouldn't wanna see me so vulnerable. So mustering my wits together i replied, " He had cancer. Terminal."
"Yeah right that's boring. Diagnostically."
Yup this was it without wasting a single moment i knocked him out with a right cross. "You talk too much for a little kid." I said menacingly as he fell to the ground rubbing his jaw where i had connected.
"And there will be a moment when you need me." He replied still in pain.......
