I thought I was free the day Hank Died. But Mike and Carson are almost as bad as my so-called "father." The only difference between here and home is that my sister is off in some other foster home and I can't protect her anymore. It's been almost a year since I've seen her, a lot can happen in a year. It's all I can do to hope that she's okay.
I never let Hank lay a finger on her while he was alive, but I'm utterly helpless now. Mike smashed my phone the moment I stepped foot in his house and I don't even know if she's in the same state as me anymore. Hopefully, she got lucky. I never seem to.
"AIDEN!?" I jump at my foster father's yelling and race down the stairs as fast as I can trying not to get into any more trouble. He looks beyond mad, what did I forget this time?
"Y-yes Mike? Sir, I-I meant sir," shit. I'm so dead tonight.
"Why the fuck are the police at my door asking for you?" fear consumes my body at the anger in his voice. I'm worse than dead now.
"I-I don't know- I-I swear! I didn't do anything!" his glare hardens and I flinch back not wanting to get hit, "Sir, I-I didn't do anything, sir."
"Just come on-" he grabs my shoulder tight enough to leave another bruise and I tense up as he drags me to the front door where two officers stand looking a little shocked. "What did the brat get into this time. I'm not paying for shit."
"Mr. Finn he hasn't done anything wrong," the first officer says, earning a scoff from Mike. "We're here to escort him to the airport." The airport? Why the hell am I going to the airport?
"The airport? Where is he goin'?"
"Aiden's social worker is meeting us there, we need to get going."
"Why the fuck is he meeting with that bitch?" I flinch at Mike's words and watch as officer one tenses, his jaw clenched in anger and I take a step away.
Officer two speaks up, breaking the silence,
"She's found them a new home."
