We drove in the small car for 45 minutes to get to a town with an actual mall instead of the singular department store that Willow Falls has to offer. Ellie and Ethan chatted the whole way while Owen and I just sat quietly. Owen's so confusing. I can't figure him out and it scares me that I can't read him. Up until earlier, he's just been quiet and avoided us. But now I can feel the anger radiating off of him.

A large, busy mall comes into view and Ethan turns into the parking lot. I can feel my heart start to race at the sheer amount of people walking around. I can hear the noise even from inside the car, the laughing, the screaming. Two small kids race around a small fountain, splashing water on each other till they're both soaked and laughing just like all kids do. Just like I never got to.

"Alright," Ethan exclaims, turning around to face me and Ellie after parking the car, "you guys ready for some shopping?"

"Let's do it!" Ellie says back with a smile while I just nod, not really looking forward to this at all.

"Cool, let's go in pairs so it doesn't take as long yeah?" he looks over to Owen and rolls his eyes when he doesn't get a response, "Ok then. Ellie, you're with me and the two mute boys can go off together!" Oh lucky me.

"Yay." I  can feel Owen's eye roll without even seeing his face, "I get paired with the depressed bitch while you get the ray of sunshine. What fun."

You're not exactly a peach either hun. With a glare to the back of Owen's head, I jump out of the car, slamming the door a little harder than I normally would. There are too many people around for it to matter right now I just hope I don't get in trouble for that later. Hank was real protective of his car, I hope my brothers don't have that in common. Ellie slides out after me, leaving Ethan in there with Mr. Moody, probably talking arguing about who gets stuck with me.

"He didn't mean that A, he's just in a bad mood."

"It's fine. I'd rather it be me stuck with him than you," I smile at her to prove I'm not really upset, "Even if he is a total jerk."

"Good cause I wasn't gonna trade anyways," she laughs and shoves me lightly as the twins finally hop out of the car.

Let's just get this over with.

After an hour of searching through clothes to find enough items for Owen to be satisfied, we were finally done. Of course, he's too pissed to talk to me in the car but won't let me leave without a whole new wardrobe. This guy is just determined to confuse me. Now, Owen is sat across from me in the food court, sipping his ICEE and glaring at me like I just kicked his puppy. Maybe if he glares hard enough I'll just disappear, I'm sure that would be more enjoyable for the both of us.

Unintelligible music crackles through the mall's ancient speakers, filling the already insanely loud room with more noise. I rest my head against my hands, trying to keep my breathing under control. I need to find Ellie before this gets worse, I highly doubt Glare-y Mc Glare-erson over here would care to help me if I start to have a panic attack. I need my sister.

"Owen, can we go find Ellie?" He looks back up from his slushie and raises an eyebrow.

"Why." His voice is just as cold as his drink.

"I don't," feel comfortable here? "I can't.." breath with all these people? "It's just," too loud in? I take a break from my stuttering to take a breath. I can't say any of that, it's not like he would understand anyways. " I just don't wanna sit anymore." wow so convincing Aiden.
