It sucks me into a different world
Is the place that I'm in right now a dream or reality.- Ateez, Precious
"Uhm, Chan? Can I come in?", Rory asked, her voice barely a whisper. Chan turned around in surprise and immediately nodded. Rory sat down on his bed and looked at the familiar pictures on the walls. Most of them were with his boys and on some she was in.
"Where were you?", Chan asked carefully. "You weren't home like usual."
"I was with Changbin.", Rory replied and could see how Chan relaxed instantly.
"Are you okay?"
"I don't know.", Rory said with a sad smile. Chan nodded and sat down next to her. Of course he wished for her to get better but at the same time he didn't want to push her. Now he was just glad Rory told him the truth and didn't try to lie.
"Do you need any help with school?"
Rory smiled at that question. She was in desperate need for his help but she didn't want to spend the evening with studying. Now she just wanted to be with her brother.
"Would you like to, uhm, play something?", Rory asked almost shy. She turned away, scared to get rejected but when Chan didn't answer she looked at him and laughed out loud. His jaw dropped and he was trying to hide the biggest smile on his face.
"Of course! Yes. What would you like to play? Uno? Twister? Wait we can't play that with just the two of us-"
"Anything is fine.", Rory laughed and a few minutes later the both of them were happily playing Uno on Chan's bed. In the background music was playing and sometimes Chan would stop playing just to explain the musical elements to Rory. Rory on the other hand didn't understand anything but she was happy with just listening to her brother being all excited.
Most of the time they weren't even actively playing the game. They would just randomly talk about their friends or completely dumb stuff making Rory smile. It felt kind of strange being happy like this again, but she liked it.
About two hours later both of them were sick of the game. Most games Chan had won, while Rory was the worst Uno player the world has ever seen. I'm honestly not kidding, when I say this. Anyways, Chan purposely lost a few times and when he saw how happy Rory got when she beat him, he saw how worth it was. Losing a game didn't mean anything to him as long as he could see his sister happy again.
"Would you play something for me?", Rory asked with big eyes and pointed towards the keyboard in his room. Chan smiled and softly ruffled Rory's hair, making her smile.
"Any song wishes?"
"Your favourite."
"Well then get ready for your concert. You even have the best seat."
"I'm your only fan so shut up."
"How rude."
"I want my money back."
"You didn't have to pay anything. What?"
"I'm sure you owe me something."
"Do you even want me to play something?", Chan asked amused when Rory wanted to open her mouth to add something again.
"Sorry.", Rory said embarrassed and laid down on his bed. It was comfy and the scent was so familiar to Rory she could feel herself getting tired. With closed eyes she listened to Chan playing and singing. She always loved his singing.
