Part 14

"Hey mom" I said as I came down the stairs.

"Hi sweetie are you guys doing anything today?" She asked both of us.

I looked over at Dylan and he just shrugged his shoulders.

"No I don't think so why?"

"Because the alpha and Luna called me and asked if we could come over for a family dinner , I of course already said yes because who would say no to that"

I rolled my eyes, of course she did. I looked over at Dylan and he looked a bit confused but nodded at my mom.

"Okay what time did they say" I asked her

"They said 4:30"

"Alright we'll be ready by then" I then pulled Dylan back up to my room.

He easily went with me.

Once we got back inside I flopped onto my bed and patted the side next to me.

"Come on I-I wanna c-cuddle"

He smiled brightly "your wish is my command" and with that he jumped next to me and pulled me in his arms and O could feel him sigh in content against my back. "Are you nervous about the dinner?" He asked me.

I shook my head turning around to face him.  "No I'm not nervous about the dinner really because I already met them before and when I went to your house your mom was very happy to see me. But I am a bit worried about what being your mate is gonna mean for me."

"What do u mean by that?"

"I mean I don't know if I have what it takes to be a good Luna or not. While I know that your just gonna say I'll do fine but" I bit my lip "I'm still worried that I'm gonna screw it up for you and the pack"

He pulled me flush against his chest.

"I know it probably looks scary but I've seen you stand up for someone when someone is doing something wrong or how protective you are with friends and those are all good traits of a Luna and I'll always be here for you, I know in the past I may have been a total douchebag but I promise you nothing will ever stop me from loving you ALL of you"

I looked up at him and squeezed my arms around him.

"Thank you that definitely made me feel better"

"Good" he pecked my lips "now you wanna watch a movie while we wait for the dinner?"

"Of course"

—————Dinner time

"Okay Connor ready for this!"

"Ohhh soo ready"

So remember how I said that I wasn't nervous well I think I was lying because I am very very nervous right now.

He laughed "yeah sure you are, but honestly my mom loves you and I'm pretty my dad likes you too so you really don't have to worry"

"Yeah your right let's go"

And with that I gathered my courage and opened the door.

I let my mom on first then I went in and then Dylan.

I saw the alpha and Luna already sitting down at the table.

"Oh hello dears come sit sit." The Luna said

"Of course Alpa Derek and Luna Amanda" me and my mom said as we went to sit down.

She laughed "oh please your our sons mate and mother in law call me Amanda and that grouch over there Derek"

"I am not a grouch Amanda" the alph- Derek said

"Yeah yeah whatever grouch" Amanda said as she squeezed her husbands cheeks

"Mom! Dad! Shh you guys are so embarrassing" Dylan said as he covered his face with his hands.
I laughed. He looked at me and smiled.

"Anyway where is the food exactly" he asked his parents.

"Oh! Yes I forgot about that I set all the plates up in the kitchen, let me go get those"

My mom stood up and offered her help.

"Dylan go help your mother as well" Derek said

He looked between me and his dad then reluctantly stood up and went to the kitchen. I looked away from him and to the alpha. I gulped my nerves flooding back in. Soon we were alone. Okay yeah officially scared.

"Calm down son no need to be so nervous" he said. Which only slightly calmed me down.
"Now I sent him away so that we can talk about somethings."

I could only nod not knowing what to say.

"So as you know Dylan is going to become the next Alpha which also means that you are going to be the Luna. There are a lot of responsibilities that come with that and while I think you can handle it I just want to make sure that this is what you want"

I looked at very strangely. What I want? What does he mean by that?

"Umm I'm sorry sir but I don't really understand. What do you mean by what I want"

He smiled at me. I decided I liked Dylan's smile a lot more.

"You see you guys haven't completed the bond yet and as you know Alphas are very strong wolves so let's say a rejection wouldn't kill them like it would some wolves and since the bond isn't very strong I think that both of you would be alright if the bond was broken"

I looked at him like he was speaking a different language. Was this seriously happening? Well nuh huh I didn't care if he was the alpha I was gonna say something to him.

"Well exude me sir but I think you have got it VERY wrong, I very much like your son and I absolutely would never put my mate through a rejection because I don't want the responsibility that comes with it so I think that you shouldn't say things like that especially about your son being rejected"

He smiled again, except this time it was much kinder. "Good you passed I approve"

I grew very confused. What is this man talking about. I passed? I passed what ya dummy I don't think I was takin a test was I?

"I'm sorry about making you stress over that of course I already approved of you being my sons mate but I did need a bit more approvable about how you would do in a leadership role and If you had enough guts. And let's just say you do kid I like it"

I was completely flabbergasted as Dylan and the others walked in with the food.

Once he sat down he saw my face.

"Hey you okay?"

I looked over to his father who smiled at me. I smiled back.

"Yeah yeah I think I am"
