When I say the smile that lite up his face outmatches anyone I've ever seen even the one he gave me before i am absolutely telling the truth. All it took was for me to say a few words and bam there it was. My heart fluttered at the thought that it was me who made that smile come on his face.
"So does that mean you'll be my mate?"
He asks excitedly
I gulp. This is it. My last chance to back away and not be with him.
"Yeah yeah it does" I say "but that doesn't mean we're going to be just like other mates and mate right away, while yeah I forgive you that doesn't mean what you did didn't hurt me so it may take a while before I completely warm up to you"
His excitement died down for a second but bounced back up soon after. Reminding me of a puppy.
"So that means you will warm up to me at some point which means that you'll come to love me too and I've been waiting years so I can definitely wait a little bit longer"
I gave him a small smile and I nod.
"Alright let's focus on our work now okay?"
"Okay but can I hold your hand?"
That sorta took me aback. I blinked a few times.
"U-uh s-sure" I said holding out my hand.
He smiled and grabbed it going back to his work humming a little with his smile never leaving his face.
I looked down at our conjoined hands I really did like the bond sparks they made me feel so safe even though I was with my... well my accidental bully I guess because he really didn't mean to bully me.
Then the bell rang and we had to go to our separate classes.
"I'll walk you to your class" he said standing up only breaking our hand contact for a second so we could put our stuff away then grabbing it as soon as we were done. I blushed a little and looked away. Then mentally slapped myself why oh why is this stupid mate bond making me so mushy and feely.
"No you don't have to" I say going to break our hand contact but his grip just tightened.
"Nope I'm walking you to class" then he pulls me along out into the hallway.
I grumbled but deep down I liked how his hand felt in mine.
