They spent a few weeks at the island of Delos, chatting with Artemis, random fruit trees, anything to soothe his loneliness. Yeah, Hyacinthus was alone now. He didn't have his family or friends to go to to fill up the emptiness he felt without Apollo.

Conveniently, Apollo actually had a life outside Hyacinthus. Strange. Artemis wasn't especially fond of him, along with the hunters. Wow, my life sucks. he thought, cupping his hands to his cheeks.

Apollo couldn't stay with him all the time, and, well- Delos was an island. There wasn't a port here, and Hyacinthus couldn't cut down trees.

He saw a faint speck of dust in the air, descending from the sky. Was it Apollo? If it was Apollo-

It was Apollo.

"Apollo!" Hyacinthus yelled, waving his hands over his head.

"Hyacinthus?" Apollo was now in his view, his golden hair as bright as the sun.

"Apollo! Over here!" Hyacinthus repeated.

"Coming!" Apollo dove down. "Hyacinthus~"

Hyacinthus punched him in the face.

"What the-" Apollo fell on to the sand, seeing Hyacinthus rubbing his knuckles. "What was that for?" he whimpered, lips curving down in a frown.

"I don't really appreciate being locked up here." Hyacinthus said, using this as a layer of protection. Just something inside him was telling him that spilling out his feelings was going to end up bad, and it just didn't feel right.

A/N: crippling depression

He walked over to Apollo, raising his foot to step on his face.

"Woah-" Apollo rolled over to the side, grabbing his hands and pinning him down. "You've got a different attitude today," he said as he tried to peck his cheek.

"Knock it off!" Hyacinthus said, turning a fascinating shade of red.

"Fine, fine, fine, what the gentleman wants." Apollo said, getting up with his hands raised.

"Apollo, can you bring me over to Sparta to see my parents?" Hyacinthus said.

"Absolutely not-"

"Oh my gods!" Hyacinthus sighed. "I'm going to rot on this island, my face will turn brown from the sun, which you drive by the way. I'm not immortal, I will age and I don't want to spend the rest of my life stuck on an island watching you visit less and less."

"Hyacinthus.." Apollo felt oddly touched. He finally crossed another bridge to Hyacinthus's heart.

(you own his heart, just saying)

"Well, I suppose... it won't hurt if I come along too..." Apollo pondered, trying to ignore the ball of sunshine that was beaming up at him.

"Yes!" Hyacinthus  clenched his fists, looking very serious as he gritted his teeth. Apollo tickled his chin.

"Agh!" Hyacinthus almost jumped out of his skin, nearly tripping on the white sand.

"Let's get going, shall we?" Apollo smiled, holding out his hand to Hyacinthus.

"To Sparta." Hyacinthus returned the smile, grabbing hold of his neck.

"Just saying, if you strangle me, I may or may not drop you."

"Got it."
