Elsa's POV
I walked down the stairs after I had spent almost two hours getting myself ready for this evening with Jack. I honestly have no idea what to expect, it was strange going out with someone so casually, much less a guy. But I sighed, knowing Jack was, well, Jack. So why did I still feel nervous? I shook off my nerves and stepped out of the room and I headed down the hallways. I finally walked down the stairs and my eyes trailed to Anna, who was obviously excited. She looked at me and smiled widely, mouthing 'wow'. I smiled lightly and my eyes looked over at Jack, he stood there with the same pants and a hoodie that looked a bit nicer than the one he usually wore. His mouth was hanging open and he stared at me in shock, I became a little self-conscious as I walked nearer to him. "Is it too little or too much? Is there something on me?" I asked again and looked down at my dress to see if there was.
He cleared his throat and caught my hand to stop me from moving. "No, it's perfect and you look absolutely beautiful." He said and smiled, my heart fluttered slightly as it picked up.
"Thank you." I said quietly and he draped the small cloak I had taken off of the hook. I said goodbye to Anna as he escorted me out of the door.
She gave me two thumbs up with a big smile and I just smiled softly before the door closed behind me. I breathed a sigh and felt my heart beat nervously. I mentally talked to myself to calm down. I looked around and saw the moon glowing as it made the snow on the ground shimmer and a cool breeze blew by. He guided me to a sled, one that was handcrafted and absolutely gorgeous. "This is beautiful Jack, where'd you get this?" I asked as I went up to and traced my gloved hand over the carvings. He smiled and let out a small laugh.
"I have my ways." He said and offered his hand for support as I stepped up, I thanked him and He climbed in after me. "Sandy, please take us to the designated place," he ordered the short man, who was covered in a cloak. The little man nodded his head and made the two reindeer pick up speed. As the sleigh went forward I looked to the side at the beautiful view passing by. We stopped and Jack got out first before offering his hand to help me down and I thanked him as I did so. He escorted me to a small moonlit picnic and I smiled as he showed me my seat.
"This is amazing Jack," I said in awe and looked around. He chuckled lightly and smiled, running a hand through his hair.
"I am glad you like it." He said and he then made us each a plate of food and we ate, afterward, he showed me some of the constellations and we talked about our families, likes, dislikes and many other things. On the ride home there was a silence, but a comfortable one, safely he returned me to the castle and we walked together to the door of the castle.
"Thank you for the wonderful evening, I've been so busy with work, it felt nice to just relax," I said smiling lightly and he grinned.
"Yeah, no problem, it was my pleasure." He said and I smiled wider.
"Thanks again," I said and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before going inside. I paused at the door and waved lightly before closing it. I sighed against the door as I closed it and leaned my head back against it.
Jack's POV
I smiled widely as I stood there and ran my hand through my messy hair. I called the wind and flew excitedly to my cabin and cracked one of the snow globes, going to North's Workshop. Walking in I bumped into Bunny. "Watch it mate" he grumbled
"Pfft, sorry" I said and walked into North's private workshop. "Hey North" I said casually as I hopped onto the table as I sat down. Startled, he jumped slightly and grumbled at the bit of mess he made on the toy.
"Jack, so any news on, Pitch?" He asked, wiping his hands and turning around.
"Well, some, he seems to have shown a lot of activity in Arendelle. There is a particular person who he seems to target the most, Queen Elsa. I'm still observing the situation, but I think it is connected to the nightmares she has. Ones of losing her parents and her sister. There might be more, but like I said, I'm still observing, so I'll let you know if I find anything more."
"Thank you for the report, and for continuing your observation, now go on back and do your job." He answered and I nodded. I greeted Tooth and Sandy, giving the elves a few candies secretly before I left. I returned to my house in Arendelle and sat down. The moon had taken it's place and I looked up at it, sighing.
"Well, though I doubt you'll respond, I was hoping if you could maybe do a little favor?" I spoke and waited for a response, but none came. "Thought so" I whispered and stood up, calling on the wind and flew to a nearby house studying the village. The children played in the streets while some were preparing a meal, or others where closing their shops. The village was a peaceful one, and Elsa seemed to care for her people more than anyone he'd ever met. So why would Pitch haunt her and go after her fear? I wondered for a bit and thought about it. Targeting someone who still grieves over her parents and sister's loss isn't worth it. I looked at the castle and the ice that covered it, it was so beautiful and intricate. "Her powers," I whispered in realization. "But why.?" I whispered as I flew around. I entered the castle and flew near the ceiling, staying out of people's ways, looking for a possible hint.
I neared her room and slipped in through the door, she was asleep already and I stared down at her. "You really are full of mysteries," I whispered smiling as I gently moved a curl from her forehead before sitting down. "I'll be your guardian for the night." I quietly spoke and looked around.
"Oh, but only if you knew.." A voice said maliciously and there was an evil laugh before I turned around seeing nothing.
