Crime and Punishment

The only justified crime Is probably the most painful
It's stealing a heart
And pulling it apart
A temporary death
That leaves the biggest mark behind

There's no witness but the victim
The convicted is the glorified
The punishment is guilt
And the repercussions come back to haunt them

The pain lasts for eternity

A trauma nothing can fix
Except for the risk of finding someone new to trust
to make a new hole
a new heartbreak
another glorified crime
