Temporary Forever

The sunset matches the color of your face
I know that because it's something I can't erase

I felt you in the memories of this place
I remember when we treated childhood like a race

I can see calendars lined with dates
I can see all of the long waits
I can remember the feeling of being awake but dreaming

I can still feel your long-awaited embrace
I remember ignoring the disgrace
I guess some people can never know the feeling

I'd give anything to feel it without the space (in between)
I know so many that can't remember a memory like a place (not like me)
