Meeting His Family

It was the first time you'd be meeting Josh's family and you were nervous to say the least, especially since you'd both be staying at his parents' house for a few days. It was his birthday in a few days and all he wanted was to go home and see his family as well as introduce you to them so there was absolutely no way you could say no. You anxiously pulled your lip between your teeth, nibbling at the skin attempting to hide your anxiety, although Josh saw right through you. "Hey, why are you stressing? They'll love you." Josh says as he glances over to you, smiling and taking your hand, kissing the back of it and interlocking your fingers before focusing on the road.

You sigh looking out the window "What if they hate me?" you mutter, secretly hoping he didn't hear you. You knew that, unfortunately for you, he did as he sighed before pulling over to the side of the road. He turns to look at you and pulls you to him into a passionate, loving kiss which surprises you at first but you quickly relax into it and kiss him back placing a hand on his cheek and you feel your anxiety ease away. You both pull away after a bit and he places a hand on your cheek slowly and softly caressing it with his thumb as you sigh and lean into his touch, feeling comforted.

"I love you... more than anything and I know that my family will too. My mom's been begging me to bring you home ever since she found out we started dating and if by any chance they don't like you as much as I thought they would, I don't give a damn because I am in love with you and I belong with you. No matter what anybody says, okay? I love you so much." He says looking into your eyes making you feel almost like you would explode because of the butterflies you felt inside. "I love you too, so much." Was all you could say, giving his lips one last peck before he turned his eyes back to the road and got back to driving to his parents' house.

A few minutes later you arrived at Josh's parents' house and you felt the nerves come back, your mind swarming with doubts again as Josh got out of the car and came around to open your door; he took your hand and gave it a squeeze before saying "Remember, I'm here, I love you." You we're just able to mutter a low "I love you too." before you saw Ursula open the door of the house and come quickly towards you both, pulling Josh into a hug "How are you baby? I missed you so much." You loved the relationship Josh had with his mom "I'm good. Mom, this is (Y/N), my girlfriend." He said after he pulled away, she turned to look at you smiling and pulled you into a hug as well "It's so nice to finally meet you (Y/N), Josh has told us so much about you and I couldn't wait to meet the person who makes my boy so happy." You couldn't help but blush at her words and say "It's so nice to meet you too Mrs. Beauchamp." She let you go and said "Please honey, call me Ursula. Come in! It's freezing out here, dinner's almost ready." Josh took your hand and whispered in your ear "You see? She loves you already." to which you only smiled at him.

As you entered the warm house Josh took your jacket from you and went to hang it along with his while his dad and brothers walked over to you "You must be (Y/N)! It's so nice to meet the one who's had our Josh so mesmerized." Ron said extending his hand for you to shake "Did mom and you agree to embarrass me today?" Josh said blushing intensely, making you chuckle slightly as you shook his dad's hand "It's nice to meet you too Mr. Beauchamp." "Call me Ron, please." He answered smiling at you, walking away after. You had technically already met both of Josh's brothers before while FaceTiming him when he had gone to visit alone, so they both received you with open arms.

"Come on, let me show you around." Josh said taking your hand. He showed you around until Jaden came saying dinner was ready. Dinner went great, his parents asked you things about you and your family and they seemed to really like you, which made you become calmer as the evening progressed. "Dinner was lovely, thank you so much Ursula. Would you like help washing the dishes?" you ask, ready to stand up from the table. "Thank you darling but you're fine, I'll get Ron and the boys to do it later." she giggles giving you a wink. "Now, come into the living room, I have so many stories to tell and old pictures to show you!" she adds, Jaden and Jonah laughing along with you, earning a groan from your boyfriend "Moooom! Seriously?" he whines. You lean over and place a kiss on his cheek, taking his hand pulling him with you behind his family.

Ursula and you spent the remainder of the night looking at old family pictures and sharing the most embarrassing stories of Josh as a child, him hiding his face in your shoulder or your hair in embarrassment while you couldn't hold in your laughter.

After a few hours you say your good nights and as you got under the covers of what was Josh's bed in what was his bedroom, you were thinking over the night and couldn't help but smile to yourself as you realised how nice it felt to be so welcomed into their family. "What's got you so happy?" Josh asked as he got under the covers with you, wrapping his arms around you and placing a kiss on your temple. You sighed as you looked up at him and stared into his beautiful blue eyes "I was just thinking about how happy it makes me that your parents liked me so much. You don't know how important it was to me that they liked me, I know how close you are to them and I would've hated getting in the way of that." you say placing a hand on his cheek, running it along the stubble that was starting to grow on his face. He smiles at you and leans in closing the space between you, pressing his lips to yours, you kissing him back. "I knew they'd love you, I love you so much more though." he says making you blush "I love you too baby, good night." You say giving him one last loving kiss and resting your head on his chest "Good night baby girl."
