Best Friend's Brother II

Hey everyone, I'm so sorry it took me so long to update and give you guys the awaited second part of Best Friend's Brother. I've been struggling a lot with my mental health for a few months and it got in the way of my writing, causing me to have a really bad case of writer's block or even if I had the idea for what I wanted to write I physically felt incapable of doing it. I hope you like it and I'm still taking requests.

"Hey, are we still on for today?"

You get a text from Josh asking about the date you had agreed to go on with him today. You smile as you quickly type in your response.

"Yup! Where are we going?"

You answer quickly, wanting to know what you were doing so you could figure out what to wear and you had to admit you were very nervous about your date with Josh. You were not only going on a date with the guy you had been crushing on for months, but you were also going on a date with your best friend's brother and you had no idea what Jaden would think of that; which was also the reason why you hadn't told him anything about what's been going on between you and Josh. You were absolutely certain that he'd freak out but you didn't know if he'd be mad at you or Josh.

"That's for me to know and for you to find out later, just wear something casual😉"

He texts back a few minutes after which was all you needed for a simple but cute outfit to come into your mind before heading to your bathroom to shower before doing your hair and light makeup. You were ready just about 15 minutes before he was supposed to pick you up and you couldn't help the nerves that came back to you. You heard your doorbell ring and you quickly grab your phone and purse before looking at yourself in your mirror one last time and walking to the door, opening it to find Josh looking handsome as ever smiling right at you making your heart speed up already. "Hey pretty girl, you good to go?" he says and you can't help but blush and smile as you nod at him, walking out and licking your front door before going to his car, him opening and closing your door for you before getting in himself and driving away. "So, can I know where we're going now?" You ask "Not just yet, don't worry, I'm sure you'll like it." He says resting his hand on your knee and giving it a little squeeze before turning his eyes back onto the road, the silence becoming comfortable between you two.

A few minutes later you arrive at an arcade, Josh hurrying around the car to open your door for you, you thank him before chuckling and saying "I actually love this place, you were right." He smiles before taking your hand intertwining your fingers and slightly pulling you in the direction of the entrance "I knew it, come on, I'm sure I'll be able to beat you at most games." he says playfully "Oh yeah? How can you be so sure of that?" You ask while you two stood in line to get your tickets for the games "I just know." "We'll see about that" you think as you get to the front of the line and he pays for the tickets "Wanna bet?" You ask and he smirks and crosses his arms "What do you win if I lose?" he asks "We go for ice cream after and I get whatever I want with the tickets we win." you smirk back. He takes a step towards you before saying "Fine, but if I win, I get a kiss." your breath hitches in your throat and you have to swallow before being able to answer only with a small "Fine".

You were in the middle of the second to last game you two had left to play in the arcade and you were tied in victories, so whoever won this one would surely win the bet. It was air hockey and you were almost 100% sure you could beat him. Until you didn't. No matter how much you tried you couldn't score even once, he couldn't help but burst out laughing when he scored for the last time "I just hope you're not a sore loser, (Y/N). I told you I'd beat you." He says chuckling as you roll your eyes at him with your arms crossed "Yeah yeah, you just got lucky." You reply resting your body on the edge of the air hockey table as he walks to you "Come on, don't be mad. I'll tell you what, even though you lost I'll still let you pick whatever prize you want, I was mostly winning the tickets for that anyways." He gives you a wink while finishing that last part and you couldn't help but blush and reply with a small "Okay" as a smile made its way to your lips "You're cute when you blush, let's go." He grabs your hand and pulls you to walk towards the prize stand, asking you what you wanted as you eyed everything and ended up picking a big teddy bear. You walked hand in hand towards his car, him helping you get in as you thought you didn't want the night to end.

You realized you were wrong to think that it was over as you figured Josh wasn't driving to your house but to your favorite ice cream place instead, you turn to look at him as you were still surprised as he parked in front of it "Thought I'd just make it a win-win situation for both of us." You quickly lean over and kiss his cheek before moving to get out of the car but you were stopped as a hand pulled you back by your wrist making you turn back around, another hand reached for your chin and you feel a pair of lips land on yours. You quickly process what is happening and you wrap an arm around Josh's neck as you kiss him back, your lips syncing perfectly with his. You pull back after a bit, both of you smiling like children as you stared in each other's eyes "Had to pay up for that bet you lost, pretty girl." he smirks at you, making you chuckle "Of course, aaand I think I still need to pay a bit." you say pulling him in for another kiss, his hand that was on your chin moving to hold a bit of your hair out of your face as he kisses back. Once you pull back he gives you a peck "Ice cream?" you giggle back an "Ice cream" before getting out of the car and walking to the ice cream shop.

While you both waited for your turn Josh had his arms wrapped around your shoulders from behind, your chin rested on his forearm as you discussed which flavor you would pick. You hear the small bell hanging from the door ring as someone came in but you didn't care to look until you hear a sudden "WHAT THE FUCK?!" you'd recognize that voice anywhere. Shit. Josh quickly pulls away from you being as shocked as you were to find his little brother, your best friend, standing there looking like he saw a ghost. "J-Jaden, I-" you start saying trying to find the words to explain what was going on before he cuts you off "No (Y/N)! What the fuck is this?? My brother and my best friend? Dating?! When the heck were you gonna tell me?!" he yells angrily at you both; thank god the ice cream shop was empty aside from the people working there because the scene he was causing would have been embarrassing. "Bro, stop, we can explain but you have to calm down." Josh says trying to get Jaden to listen to you both, thankfully it worked and you saw as Jaden took a few breaths before crossing his arms "I'm listening" he says and you start explaining how everything started, Josh and you having a connection from the day you met him at his house and how neither of you wanted to tell him yet in case things didn't work out. "I'm still disappointed that you guys didn't tell me anything, specially you (Y/N), but I kinda get it. And as for you Josh, you better not hurt her, cause trust me; you may be my brother but she's like my sister and I WILL beat your ass if you hurt her." Jaden says pointing at his brother, you trying your best to not burst out laughing at his overprotectiveness "Trust me man, I'm not planning on hurting her. Ever." Josh responds, turning to look you in the eyes as he said the word "Ever" making you melt. "Just... don't be all lovey and shit while you're around me, it's disgusting." Jaden says causing you and Josh to burst out laughing.

You watch as Jaden gets his ice cream and leaves, silence taking over both you and Josh until he breaks it "You know, I meant what I said to Jaden, I hope you know that." he says taking your hand. You lean in and place a gentle and soft kiss to his lips whispering a soft "Thank you" after pulling slightly away "So, ice cream?" He says standing up from where you were seated and extending his hand for you to take "Ice cream" you say taking his hand.
