Draco's POV:
That night Draco didn't know where to sleep because Hermione was still unconscious and lying in his bed. He thought it would be a bit weird climbing in beside her so he set a pillow on the floor and lay down, laying a blanket over himself. He closed his eyes, when he heard a muffled voice whispering in the dark.
"Hello? Where am I? Lumos!" Hermione said. The lights went on, making Draco squint in the brightness.
"Don't worry, you fell down the stairs, I felt I had to carry you back here or otherwise you might have died, don't think I like you...Mudblood," Draco let that last word trickle out of his mouth, practically spitting it out because he desperately wanted to stop himself saying it.
"Oh, right then, you shouldn't have bothered,"Hermione said defensively,"What time is it anyway?"
"It's 3:42am," Draco said sheepishly. "You can't leave because you will be breaking the rules."
"Fine then, you get in the bed and I'll sleep on the floor," Hermione demanded.
"No that would be bad manners. You are the girl so you sleep in the bed," Draco said innocently.
"Sexist pig," she said and swung her legs out of the huge kingsize bed, pulling her pillow off it and laying it on the floor. She pulled Draco off the floor by his arm and made him stand up. She's strong, Draco thought to himself.
"I'm not being sexist its just good manners,"
"I don't care, you don't even like me anyway so why are you being nice to me?"
"Well, I...I..," Draco was going to say he did like her but his fathers voice popped into his head. He would never let them be together. "I don't know why I'm being nice to you."
"There must be a reason. By the way you treat me and my friends I thought you would gladly make me sleep on the floor."
Draco rubbed the bottom of his back, which was aching from lying on the hard, concrete tiled floor.
"As I said before, my mother taught me good manners and how to treat girls. Even though you are still a mudblood I thought I would be doing the right thing to put you in a bed instead of the floor," Draco replied.
"My name is Hermione," she said sternly.
"Ugh...em...I know," Draco stuttered.
"So then stop calling me mudblood."
"Fine but only when it's just us."
"Deal." Hermione smirked. Draco laughed, Hermione joined in and then they were in hysterics. A few seconds later they stopped. "Seriously though, I'll take the floor, I'm sure I'll be able to magic up something to lie on. Besides, it's your bed," she said.
"Why don't we both take the bed?"Draco blurted out.
"Eh, I don't think that's such a great idea," Hermione replied. Draco started laughing.
"I know, I was joking," he said, sitting back down, whilst laughing to himself.
Hermiones POV:
Hermione started into a laughing fit. In a blur of laughter she tripped over Draco's blanket and fell in to his cradled, ready to catch her, strong arms, again.
"Woah, slow down," he said whilst still laughing.
"Your not as bad as you've made out for the past six years," Hermione said, also giggling. She didn't know if she liked him, she didn't know if she still had feelings for Ron.
Draco's POV:
"Your not bad for a mudblood," Draco murmured, because he knew it was true. She was better than not bad. "Your also a laugh, not just a swat," Draco said and they both exploded into giggles.
Hermiones POV:
Hermione looked up into Draco's grey eyes, and saw a beauty in them. Not cold grey eyes, like everyone else saw, but soft grey eyes. She lowered her vision and saw a chiseled jawbone, and sharp bone structure.
Draco's POV:
Draco looked down into Hermione's chocolate brown eyes. They were so beautiful. She was so beautiful. He pushed her flawless hair behind her ear. She leaned forward and so did Draco. Slowly he kissed her, and she kissed back. He was holding her in a cradle again, her back resting in his capable hands. After the moment was over she nestled into Draco's shoulder, taking in his strong aftershave. He rested his chin on her neck and cuddled into her. They both closed their eyes, enjoying the moment, and slowly dozed off into a deep sleep, Hermione still cradled in his arms.
