TW: Slight panic, slight unintentional self harm.

Agere Remus. (Am I projecting onto this character? Maybe.) It's shorter then I wanted it to be but still cute.

Just in case, I'll put this here. THIS IS PLATONIC. I just think Patton would be a great dad to little Remus. Or little anyone.

Remus wakes up huddled under a pile of blankets, Mars, his green octopus plushie, in his arms. He's tired and his limbs are heavy. He sits up, rubbing the sleep out his eyes with the sleeve of his Cthulhu onesie. Now actually looking around, he concludes he's in Janus' room. But the space beside him in bed is empty. Which would usually be ok. But usually, he's not in the mindspace of a four year old child.

He starts to panic, being hit with the overwhelming realization that he's alone. Tears well up in his eyes and he hugs Mars closer. With a glance towards the door, he jumps out of bed, tripping on the blankets but managing to stand on wobbly legs. He's considerably shorter than usual. With the sides ability to shapeshift, his body retreated to the same state as his mind. That of a young child.

He shoves a thumb in his mouth for comfort, grasping Mars tightly against his chest. Remus stumbles over to the door and leaves the room. With one look down the light's hallway, he can guess everyone else is still asleep, so he heads to the kitchen in hopes of finding a snack.

The smell of pancakes invades Remus' senses as he reaches the bottom of the stairs. He grins, walking over as quickly as his little legs could take him. Patton is in the kitchen, standing over the oven with a plate of pancakes on the counter next to him. Remus can't help but gasp, smiling wide.

Patton turns at the sound, shocked by what he sees. A tiny Remus, with a onesie and a plushie, a thumb in his mouth looking back up at him with wide innocent eyes. He tilts his head, confused but decides to put his questions aside.

"Hey there kiddo." Morality crouches down to Remus' height. "What's going on?"

"'An-'An washnt 'ere..." He rubs the tears out his eyes again. "And i'm hungy!" Remus' words are muffled by the thumb in his mouth.

"Well... Would you like some pancakes?" Remus nods excitedly so Patton goes to prepare a plate, pouring on some maple syrup. (None of that Aunt Jemima's bullshit.) He sets it down at the table, now turning to look for Remus. To his horror, the child is in front of the oven, hand dangerously close to the VERY hot pan. "NO!"

Patton runs over, grabbing him and pulling him away from danger, quickly turning off the oven. "S-sorry.." He looks genuinely sorry... Patton smiles lightly.

"It's ok kiddo, just, go take a seat." Remus nods and sits down on the floor. "What are you doing down there? It's not clean, come sit on the chair." He pats the seat.

"I can sit a' the table?" Patton' heart almost breaks at the hopeful look on Remus' face. He smiles.

"Of course you can. Here." He picks up the creative side, seating him on the chair in front of the pancakes. Remus' eyes widen.
"This is for me?" He asks, as if making sure he isn't being lied to. Patton nods and hands him a fork. Remus puts Mars down next to the plate, and finally removes his thumb from mouth to start eating. Morality is quick to notice the blood and bite marks. He frowns. He cleans up the kitchen and by the time he turns back, Remus has already finished his pancakes and has his thumb back in his mouth. Patton frowns again. He summons a green pacifier and some baby wipes, and crouches down in front of Remus.

"Remus, kiddo. Why don't you use this instead? You're hurting yourself." With a bit more coaxing, he reluctantly removes his thumb and Patton takes the chance to wipe his face clean of syrup. Patton gives Remus the pacifier who seems pleased enough, letting out a content hum. Morality smiles, going to search the cabinets for a first aid kit. He takes back his place in front of the child, disinfecting the wound before bandaging it up.

"There. All better." Patton stands up, gently ruffling the dark side's hair who giggles adorably.

"Patton?" The moral side is startled out of his thoughts, turning to see Janus walking into the kitchen.

"Jan-Jan!" Remus exclaims (although it was stifled by the paci), jumping off the chair and running to hug Deceit's legs.

His eyes widened. "Oh shi-" A glare from Patton stops him from finishing. "Re, i'm not sorry. I didn't think you'd still be in that mindspace."

Remus takes out the pacifier before speaking. "It s'ok. Patton gave me pancakes!" Janus looks at Patton, silently thanking him.

"Well let's go play, ok?" Remus nods, running over to grab Mars off the table. He stops in front of Morality, smiling.

"Thank you Patton!" He seems to hesitate before deciding on holding up the pacifier to Patton. He just pushes it back down, smiling back at him.

"Keep it. And try not to bite your fingers again, kiddo." Remus nods smiling and puts the paci back in his mouth. He runs to Janus, taking his hand. Little Remus turns around one last time to wave at Patton before disappearing up the stairs.
